J.J. Abrams' fresh take on "Star Trek" is looking like it's gonna be huge, taking in as much as $75 million at the box office through the weekend. The film features a whole new cast of predominantly little-known actors taking over the iconic roles of James T. Kirk, Spock and the rest of the Enterprise crew. So which of these up-and-comers will be the movie's breakout star? Who will everyone be talking about on Monday? Will it be Chris Pine as the young and cocky Kirk? Maybe "Heroes" villain and brand-new Spock Zachary Quinto? Perhaps Zoe Saldana’s sultry Uhura, Anton Yelchin’s navigator Chekov, Karl Urban’s doc Bones, or Simon Pegg’s beam-me-up engineer Scotty.
A case can be made for any of them. But MTV News wanted to know what you had to say, so we sent our own Tim Kash into the heart of Times Square to get your take on who will be "Trek"'s breakout star.

I was never a huge "Star Trek" fan. I can't recall watching an episode of the original series with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. As far as I knew, Shatner's most famous role was Stan Fields in "Miss Congeniality." The Priceline negotiator wasn't my cup of tea either.
Just because I'm not a Trekker doesn't mean I don't enjoy my fair share of action, adventure and sci-fi films (I'm all about "Alien," "Resident Evil" and "Star Wars"). But I'll be the first to admit that watching hot men in those movies can make the theater experience just a little bit better. Read more...
Spock usually doesn't worry in "Star Trek," because worry is an emotion, and neither does actor Zachary Quinto -- at least when it comes to Swine Flu.
The virus may be causing theater closings in Mexico, possibly affecting opening week for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," but he is unfazed. Quinto, who replaces Leonard Nimoy as Star Trek's original half-Vulcan in this month's reboot by J.J. Abrams, evidently takes his health very seriously, and outlined his standard arsenal of personal precautions that keep him from fretting about the world's newest pandemic.
"No, because every time I get on an airplane I have a routine," Quinto told Vulture. "What I do is, I cover the inside of my nostrils with anti-bacterial ointment." Read more...
It was almost like an "Ocean's" movie premiere, except a younger generation. Instead of Brad Pitt and George Clooney, the "Star Trek" world premiere in Sydney, Australia included the likes of Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine.
Both Quinto and Pine, along with John Cho, Eric Bana, director J.J. Abrams and other cast members all showed up in very smart, dark suits. While most wore quite button-downs, Quinto and Bana chose black shirts under their dark suits. Bana also went against the pack and decided against wearing a tie. All the gentlemen wore variations on a very traditional theme, each tweaking the look to make it his own. "Star Trek" stars Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, the new Captain Kirk and Mister Spock, were in attendance at this year's Golden Globes, so MTV took the opportunity to catch a few details about their experiences on-set and their thoughts on a potential "Star Trek" sequel. Both stars acknowledged that they have some mighty big Starfleet-issue boots to fill.
Quinto claimed that he's not too worried about Leonard Nimoy's reaction to his take on everyone's favorite Vulcan first-officer, telling MTV, "[Nimoy's] been very involved with me personally and with the film. I don't really have any nerves about that." Read more...

Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise make their highly anticipated return to the big screen next year in J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek," and now MTV has your first look at the bridge of the famous starship, as well as some thoughts from co-producer Damon Lindelof ("Lost") on what we see in this new photo.

Here's one of those meta-bizarre moments that can only happen at a place like Comic-Con. We caught up with Zachary Quinto right after his "Heroes" panel but of course all we wanted to do was grill him for "Trek" info. You can check out the full interview here. Or you can watch it below and catch Zachary checking out the Spock poster for "Star Trek" for the very first time.
