It's hard to decide which we like better: Paul Giamatti the comedian or Paul Giamatti the dramatic actor. Today we'll side with the comedian, just because his newest film, "Win Win," has gone over so well at Sundance. The actor and his co-star Bobby Cannavale caught up with MTV at the film festival to talk about the comedy.

"It's a very lovely comedic film about a man who cuts a moral corner in his life and then all the reverberations that come from that, positive and negative," Giamatti said. "It does not comment on [the middle class] in any way, it just shows it in a very real way."

Paul Giamatti playing a stressed out attorney who moonlights as a high-school wrestling coach? Sounds about right. Giamatti's character suffering a panic attack while out for a run? Also not surprising. Fellow jogger Bobby Cannavale literally mounting Giamatti to warm him up after said panic attack? Well, we weren't exactly expecting that... but that's exactly the spectacle we're treated to in the below exclusive clip from the Fox Searchlight comedy "Win Win," currently showing at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

It looks like Paul Giamatti is facing a "Win Win" situation after all, as the actor has signed on to star in Tom McCarthy's upcoming film for Fox Searchlight.

New York Magazine reports that Giamatti and Amy Ryan are joining "Win Win," McCarthy's newest project described by the magazine as "'The Blind Side' for indie literary types." The story centers on "a suburban New Jersey family and the teen runaway who changes their lives and turns around the sagging fortunes of a high school wrestling team." Read more...

UPDATE: We heard from McCarthy's publicist: "Project being discussed but this film is not for sure. It would be very premature to say anything."

While Paul Giamatti is busy promoting his latest film, the Leo Tolstoy biopic "The Last Station," he's also keeping an eye on the next time he'll step in front of the camera. As the Oscar-nominated actor revealed to MTV News, his next project just might be alongside Tom McCarthy, the director of the Oscar-nominated "The Visitor."

"I may do a movie called 'Win Win,' which is a small independent thing," Giamatti said of his next gig. "But we'll see."

Giamatti went on to say the film will be directed by McCarthy, who not only directed "Visitor" and "The Station Agent," but has a story credit for Pixar's "Up" and a juicy role in "2012" as John Cusack's romantic rival. Last year, McCarthy helmed the pilot episode of HBO's "Game of Thrones," a planned fantasy series about war and political intrigue in a fantastical medieval kingdom. Read more...
