Olivia WildeOlivia Wilde as porn star Linda Lovelace? If that doesn't set off some alarms in your head, you might not have a pulse!

"It would be a tremendous honor," Wilde told E! Online of the possibility that she might star in a biopic from Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman about the "Deep Throat" star. "It's such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman—with where she came from to 'Deep Throat' to then working with Gloria Steinem and Nora Ephron. It's really fascinating."

Nothing's confirmed yet, but if Wilde takes on the role, she'll be the second Hollywood star taking a big-screen shot at Lovelace; "Watchmen" actress Malin Akerman is starring in a separate biopic about the topic.

Liam NeesonAfter giving a part that was originally intended for Mel Gibson to Liam Neeson, "The Hangover Part II" director Todd Phillips has changed things up yet again.

Over the weekend Variety reported that Phillips, while editing the comedy, decided to cut the scene that immediately followed Neeson's. The only problem was that Neeson's scene required both a re-write and a re-shoot. Since Neeson was tied up in London filming "Clash of the Titans 2," Phillips had to find a replacement. He chose Nick Cassavetes, who will now play the tattoo artist in Bangkok that the Wolf Pack run into in their midst of their shenanigans.

Check out the rest of today's casting news after the jump, including Michael Shannon snagging the role of the villainous Zod in the "Man of Steel," Jessica Biel closing in on the "Total Recall" reboot and more!

"Daybreakers" hits theaters today, a surprisingly original vampire sci-fi flick from Michael and Peter Spierig. I've seen it twice now, and I really enjoyed both trips. It might not achieve the same numbers that "Avatar" has at the box office, but it's an action-packed, blood-soaked vampire tale which ought to appeal to people who want a change of pace from Stephenie Meyer's sparkling romances.

The stars came out last night for the New York City premiere of "Daybreakers," including the movie's two main protagonists, Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe. You can see them and others in our flipbook image gallery from the event; just click the image below to check it out!

FROM MTV.COM: Things would be real different if vampires ruled the world. Coffee would come spiked with hemoglobin, not half-and-half. Tooth-whitener ads would feature fangs. And the most compelling public-service announcement would be an hourly sunrise advisory. Some things would suck in a new way, too. As one weary vampire puts it in "Daybreakers," the inventive new genre flick from Australia, "Life's a bitch, and then you don't die."

The movie presents us with a world in which vampires do rule. Humans have been so successfully blood-farmed by a vampire corporation called Bromley Marks that they're now an endangered species. Only small bands of them remain at large, armed with stake-shooting crossbows and hiding out in the sunny countryside, where they're hard for the undead authorities to catch. With the vampire food supply running low, and consumer unrest on the rise, the corporation's elegantly sinister CEO, Charles Bromley (Sam Neill), is driving his staff scientists to find a blood substitute. His chief researcher, Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke), is on the case; but Dalton sympathizes with the humans, and his real goal is to find a cure for vampirism — which is not what the profit-oriented Bromley has in mind. ("Besides," he asks, sipping from a glass of arterial claret, "what's to cure?")

FROM SPLASH PAGE: "Daybreakers" star Willem Dafoe dropped by Splash Page HQ yesterday to chat us up about the film, which hits theaters Friday (January 8). While he was here, we managed to sneak in a few questions about — you guessed it — the "Spider-Man" films and the villain that kicked off Sam Raimi's blockbuster, web-friendly franchise, Green Goblin.

Would he be up for making a return appearance? After all, no one stays dead in the comics world. And what about those "Spider-Man 4" production delays? The actor touched on all of it in our exclusive interview.

"It all depends on the story," said Dafoe of the likelihood that we'll see him again. "The Green Goblin, there's plenty more to do, because that's not so well defined. And the Norman Osborn character is a good, solid, half-comic, half-dramatic character, so I could always revisit that."

I interviewed Willem Dafoe a couple hours ago. Star of "Daybreakers," which hits theaters on Friday. It was great. I'm a big fan of Dafoe's work and it was a thrill to meet him, talk to him

The bigger thrill though? Convincing him to pick up a plastic shotgun and play "Big Buck Safari" on our office coin-op machine. You may not know this if you don't read MTV Multiplayer regularly (you should!), but we have an ongoing "Big Buck" tournament here in the MTV Newsroom. All celebrity interviews are given the option of playing through the game in a high score competition. The video should hit Multiplayer soon enough, but here are some pictures to tide you over for now. Read More...

FROM SPLASH PAGE: We recently brought you the news that Dylan Baker will reprise his role as Dr. Curt Connors in "Spider-Man 4," heralding some hope that The Lizard could finally make his long-awaited debut as Peter Parker's newest nemesis. But let's not forget some of Spidey's other contenders, like the Green Goblin.

While the villain might thrive on the bright lights of Broadway courtesy of Alan Cumming, original Green Goblin actor Willem Dafoe's future involvement in the Sam Raimi-directed franchise isn't exactly a certainty—in fact, Dafoe himself still doesn't know whether he'll appear in future "Spider-Man" movies.

"Let's put it this way — no one's called," the actor told MTV News in a recent interview

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Before "The Dark Knight," many fans wondered how Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the Joker in Tim Burton's "Batman" could ever be topped, least of all by the seemingly unnatural choice of Heath Ledger. But if you believe one certain rumor, Nicholson almost lost the part to another actor—none other than Willem Dafoe.

Dafoe's IMDB page harbors a curious bit of "trivia," which states that the actor was considered for the Clown Prince of Crime in the Burton-directed "Batman." MTV News went straight to Dafoe for official word on the rumor, and while the actor said he was never considered for the Joker role, he did have an early attachment to the 1989 film.

"Very early, they talked to me about playing Batman," Dafoe told MTV News.

In one fell swoop, my opinion of "Daybreakers" has shifted from "mildly interested" to "holy wow I want to see this now." Okay fine. I was more than mildly interested. The cast, which includes Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill is exciting on its own. And the poster we revealed a few weeks ago, featuring what appears to be a blood farm, is undeniably cool.

But the images we have for you today, part of an MTV Movies Blog week filled with awesome exclusives, seal the deal. Particularly the one you can see a snippet of right here: Willem Dafoe wielding a shotgun/crossbow and giving you the crazy eye. Kickass. The story follows a renegade group of vampires trying to restore humanity to a blood-sucker ruled world. January 8, 2010 seems very far away right now... Read More...

This week, (limited) audiences will finally get to see what all the fuss was at this year's Cannes over director Lars Von Trier's art-horror flick, "Antichrist." The unconventional tale of a husband and wife who try to cope with the tragic loss of their son by hiding out in the woods takes a dark turn as the unnamed man's (Willem Dafoe) attempts to psychoanalyze his unnamed wife (Charlotte Gainsbourg) elicit a violent response. I don't want to spoil anything, but it is worth noting that the term "genital mutilation" has been thrown around to describe just a few of the horrors you'll witness as the story reaches its endgame.

MTV's Josh Horowitz had the opportunity recently to speak with Dafoe, who was more than happy to discuss the experience of working with Von Trier. As one of the founders of the Dogme 95 movement -- a style of filmmaking defined by a lengthy manifesto -- Von Trier is a unique soul among his fellow artists. He called himself "the world's greatest director" at Cannes this year, railing against those critics who panned "Antichrist." Read More...
