PufnstufRemember when “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” was on its way to theaters, and people wondered whether Dr. Seuss could become a hot Hollywood screenwriter? Or back when the idea of a Frank Miller comic-turned-movie seemed revolutionary? Well, if you’re looking for the next big thing in Hollywood, look no further than the two septuagenarians who recently took Comic-Con by storm.

Sid & Marty Krofft are the titans of trippiness, who crafted so many bizarre children’s shows in their early-seventies prime that journalists (including me) came running to them, simply to reminisce. But they were in San Diego to preview their first feature film, Will Ferrell’s upcoming “Land of the Lost” – and also to discuss the flood of TV-to-film remakes they plan to fast-track next.

“Our next one is Pufnstuf,” explained Sid (79 years young), referring to their beloved children’s show about a mayor with an oversized head and oft-suspected predilection towards marijuana. “And then after that, ‘Sigmund & the Sea Monster.’ They’re all in the works.” Read more...

"Step-Brothers" may be opening tomorrow but there is one Will Ferrell movie we can't wait for: the untitled Sherlock Holmes movie in which he will play Dr. Watson to Sacha Baron Cohen's Sherlock.

We tried to pry some info from Will but ... well ... he only had one curious idea for his character.

If you want to watch two 40ish men act like demented 12 year olds for about 100 minutes you could do a lot worse than checking out "Step-Brothers" this weekend. The dynamic duo that brought you "Talladega Nights" (trio really with director Adam McKay) is back with this gleefully insipid comedy.

One of the highlights of the film is a stunning musical performance by Ferrell. His voice is said in the film to be a sublime combo of Fergie's and Jesus'. So what would Jesus sing like? Leave it to Ferrell and Reilly to consider.

- "Robocop" remake actually a sequel. Darren Aronofsky reportedly being eyed for the director's chair. (Bloody Disgusting)

- First trailer for Ridley Scott's "Body of Lies" with Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio pops up online. (Coming Soon)

- Giggity, giggity, goo! A "Family Guy" movie will start within the year, says Seth McFarlane (TV Week)

- Will Ferrell to play "Two-Face," no not THAT one, the one about a racist who develops a split personality. (Variety)

- John Woo to direct comic book movie based on "Caliber." (Variety)

Comedian Danny McBride's description of working with Will Ferrell on the currently-filming flick "Land of the Lost" probably doesn't even come close to what really goes on with the former "Anchorman" on set. "It's pretty cool," McBride said, keeping mum about the 1970's TV show remake.

Talk to Ferrell and producer Adam McKay, however, and they'll tell you that the disaster-prone production has actually been as uncool as Donnie Osmond at a My Chemical Romance concert.

"I think it was like a week ago. This is a very technical movie at times, and things were going pretty slow. So I'm like, enough of this! And I pulled all the fire alarms, and of course it cost us a whole day," Ferrell shrugged. "Basically it cost the movie about $225,000 dollars, and Universal was livid." Read more...

When we met up with the comic superstar during the MTV Sneak Peek Week screening of "The Foot Fist Way," he had some choice words for us. More specifically, the "Step Brothers" star's enthusiasm for the Movie Awards caused him to cuss like a sailor. You can check out the resulting shenanigans below, though you might want to cover your ears.

The MTV Movie Awards will air live on MTV on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, with MTV News' "Coming Attractions" preshow kicking the evening off at 7:30 p.m. ET! Meanwhile, stay tuned to the MTV Movies Blog and MovieAwards.MTV.com.

It's the next highly anticipated comedy from Will Ferrell, and now we've got an exclusive first look at "Step Brothers." The film finds Ferrell and John C. Reilly starring as two spoiled, overly-competitive rich kids whose parents get married. Catch it in theaters on July 25, but first check out our clip -- with an introduction from Ferrell himself -- below.

On Sunday, we launched our Sneak Peek Week of upcoming summer films with a screening of Adam Sandler's "You Don't Mess With the Zohan," followed by a Q&A with the star moderated by our own Josh Horowitz. Yesterday evening, we held our second event, this time for the martial arts-themed comedy "The Foot Fist Way." In attendance for the Q&A was the film's star Danny McBride, writer/director Jody Hill and a little-known producer named Will Ferrell.

As the audience packed into the theater on the Paramount studio lot, our correspondent Tim Kash filmed an interview with Ferrell and McBride just outside.

Will Ferrell in 'Semi-Pro'Although we normally try to keep the news cheery in these here parts, movie fans were shocked last month to hear that a grizzly bear most recently seen in the film "Semi-Pro" had attacked and killed its handler. In Los Angeles, if not nationally, the story was often reported with the implication that comedian Will Ferrell had dodged a bullet by having filmed opposite the animal.

Now, for the first time, Ferrell spoke to us about the death of 39-year-old animal trainer Stephan Miller.

"You know, honestly, it was very sad," the "Semi-Pro" star remembered of his thoughts when he heard the news. "I feel for the trainer and his family. It was kind of a tough situation, obviously, for him and that profession and that sort of thing, and I was shocked." Read more...

As the first production from Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's new company, "The Foot Fist Way" may prove to be the summer's sleeper comedy hit. The film finds karate instructor Fred Simmons (Danny R. McBride) facing off against world-famous champion Chuck "The Truck" Wallace (Ben Best) to show the world what he's made of. Watch a clip below for a sneak peek of the festivities.
