Cate BlanchettSure, everyone is talking up Cate Blanchett's Oscar chances again this year for her turns in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and "I'm Not There," but aren't we all forgetting a little turn in another one of the year's best? "Darn it!" Blanchett screamed to me the other day when I asked her why people weren't talking about her cameo in "Hot Fuzz." For those that missed Blanchett's blink-and-you-miss-it appearance (in truth, I didn't realize she was in it until I saw the flick a second time), the Oscar winner played Simon Pegg's ex in an all-too-brief flashback.

After I finished grilling Blanchett to death for any dirt on "Indiana Jones," the actress joked with me about the appearance in the Edgar Wright comedy. "My role was really huge and they cut it," she said. "It was really about a forensic scientist with terrible facial scarring." Read More...

In our newest "Rough Cut" interview, "Darjeeling Limited" helmer Wes Anderson wonders what it would be like if some of his fictional characters from different flicks met up, and together with Jason Schwartzman, ponder if Rushmore Academy's Max Rischer will make a return. See the clip below, watch the entire interview here, or read the Q&A.

'Bottle Rocket'More Wes Anderson goodness for you today, my fellow Max Fischer fanatics. Yesterday I filled you in Anderson's plans for "The Fantastic Mr. Fox." Today I'll make your day if you're a fan of old school Wes, as in the adventures of Dignan, Anthony, and Mr. Henry.

For years, Anderson fans have grumbled about the crappy treatment his first film has received on DVD. The bare bones presentation of "Bottle Rocket" has been all the more galling considering the loving care his subsequent films have gotted as part of the Criterion Collection.

Well, grumble no more. Wes told me, "We've just begun work with the Criterion Collection to do 'Bottle Rocket' on a new DVD that’s going to have all kinds of stuff. There's a lot of 'Bottle Rocket' that was on the cutting room floor, so we have a lot to work with on that one."

The cutting room floor, you say? What has Wes been keeping to himself all these years? Are you pre-ordering your "Bottle Rocket" DVD right now? How do you think it stacks up in the Anderson oeuvre?

Bill MurrayIt will be five films in a row for the collaboration that is Wes Anderson and Bill Murray. I talked to Anderson about his upcoming animated flick based on the Roald Dahl story and he confirmed his voice cast. "George Clooney is going to be Mr. Fox. Bill Murray has a part. Jason [Schwartzman] is doing a voice. That's our team," he told me.

But don't line up at the multiplex just yet...this one is still a long ways off. "It will take a couple years to do the animating," said "The Darjeeling Limited" helmer, adding that they are about to record the voices. As for the animation, "It's stop-motion. It's like 'Nightmare Before Christmas' or those Christmas specials. These [characters] have fur, so it's not like claymation." Read More...

Alright, the clip below may seem a little random. It involves a snake but more importantly it involves Wes Anderson's "The Darjeeling Limited." And for that reason alone I'm interested.

Here's how Wes himself wanted to introduce the exclusive clip you'll watch below:

"We originally wanted to cast a little, red, spectacularly posoinous species called a Krait for the snake in our story, but unfortunately the only one we had actually seen (which had been captured by the manager of a tea estate in Darjeeling) had just been re-released into the wild. The most readily available snakes in Rajasthan seem to be cobras."

We're anxiously looking forward to Wes Anderson's "The Darjeeling Limited," so we're quite thrilled to be teaming up with Fox Searchlight to roll out a series of exclusive behind-the-scenes featurettes from the film, which stars Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman as three brothers who travel to India. We're also psyched that Anderson himself wrote a description for us of the featurette, which follows below...

"We started our shoot in the middle of one of the busiest and least accessible (by anything other than bicycle or auto-rickshaw) parts of Jodphur. Luckily, our key grip Sanjay Sami introduced us to his "rickshaw dolly" which became our favorite piece of equipment."
