You can keep following or trash all of your bootleg and unofficial "Twilight" Twitter updates now, because they've officially jumped into Twitter-Wood over at @Twilight. In addition to their look at the "New Moon" sound mixing stage, director David Slade posted an update on "Eclipse" filming, which had actor Xavier Samuel on set.

Also in the completely official MTV Movies Blog Twitter-Wood report today, I've got a pick from Selena Gomez of a snack I've never thought of putting together myself, but which you may want to check with her for pointers on if you've ever pondered how to apply maple syrup to a corn dog. Scope out all of that info and more below. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for October 12, 2009. Read more...

But wait! There's more! Studio head Bob Weinstein issued the pronouncement: "I'm heading back to my franchise films," as reported by Variety. The plan on paper calls for a veritable blitzkrieg of sequels, many of them in 3-D.

The most stunning news relates to the much-talked-about "Scream 4." Series star Neve Campbell had previously stated that she wouldn't be back for more. According to Weinstein, Campbell will return, joining already-confirmed castmates David Arquette and Courteney Cox. What's more, director Wes Craven is in talks with Dimension to helm. Read more...

"Twilight" frustrations bubbled up in the Twitter-Wood feed today, though I'm not sure what some of them were about precisely. David Slade reiterated his irritation at planes flying over his "Eclipse" set, which may have been compounded by problems involving goats. Meanwhile, Christian Serratos cryptically sounded off with her desire to see "New Moon," which apparently she is not allowed to do quite yet.

Elsewhere, photos from Eliza Dushku and Emmy Rossum showed up with flannel shirt thoughts and a mysterious coconut left in the back of a taxi cab. You really don't know where that's been, Emmy. (Be safe.) Sarah Silverman wins the Twitter Pic of the Day award, though. Click on down, and I think you'll see why. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for September 11, 2009. Read more...

Neve CampbellScream” creator Kevin Williamson has had a long time to think about how he might work Sidney Prescott—the doe-eyed gal always running from knife-wielding killers in freaky white masks—into the story of another of his horror movie send-ups. His “Scream 2” came out in 1997 and he didn’t work on “Scream 3.” But as he started writing “Scream 4,” he found out a troubling bit of news: Neve Campbell, who played Sid in all three flicks, wanted no part of a fourth installment.

"I ain't got no Sid-less scenario," he told the New York Post’s PopWrap in June. "I don't know yet what to do."

It’s possible that Williamson has now found his answer. As he let slip to MTV News at Comic-Con while nonchalantly discussing the film’s plot, he might have killed off Sid! Read more...

San Diego Comic-ConComic-Con didn't even wait for Preview Night to set the Twitter-Wood feed on fire today. It's already a trending topic, and San Diego is the place to be for Hollywood faces this week, whether they're in comic book movies, mildly comic-book-related movies, or just movies producers would like to peddle to comic book readers. As you already know, the "New Moon" cast will be there, and at least one of them is Tweeting about it.

Meanwhile, "Eclipse" director David Slade continued his tweet rampage today posting pictures from the filming locations he's been scouting. I've included links to his TwitPic photos, which you can find below, in addition to commentary on the new "Nightmare On Elm Street" remake, whether the franchise's original director will be at Comic-Con, and which actor really wants a role Sam Raimi's "World of Warcraft" movie. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for July 22, 2009. Read more...

Kevin WilliamsonA few more years, and Twitter will put all of us working writers out of business. It's amazing how much information can be imparted in 140 character bursts. For example, a (now removed) weekend Tweet from "Scream" creator Kevin Williamson revealed that his newly planned trilogy may require some creative re-casting. In the writer's own words: "Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario. She won't do it. This sucks."

"She," of course, is "Scream" star Neve Campbell. While it hadn't been made clear earlier exactly what Williamson's plans are for the coming trilogy, he'd revealed that he hoped to bring back as many characters as possible. The Arquettes, David and Courteney Cox, are already in talks. Frightmaster Wes Craven has suggested that he might even be game to direct again. Campbell bowing out isn't the kiss of death for the return to "Scream," but it will certainly hurt. More than any of us know, apparently... Read more...

Wes CravenLast week we brought word that "Scream" creator Kevin Williamson is back to work on the franchise, with an all-new trilogy which will bring back a number of the old characters. Which ones specifically hasn't yet been confirmed, though Williamson has already spoken with stars David Arquette and Courtney Cox Arquette. Now, "Scream" director Wes Craven has chimed in with some of his own words on the subject, in an interview with Digital Spy.

"[The Weinstein Company co-chairman] Bob Weinstein has talked to me, he's interested in me directing it. I had a brief conversation with Kevin [Williamson], I know that Kevin is writing. What I've said to Bob is I'm not closed to it, I'm not open to it, I'll be perfectly happy to read a script and tell him what I think. That's where it's at and I'm not expecting a script until August. I don't know what the premise is or anything." Read more...
