The FighterYou definitely haven't seen Christian Serratos in the "Twilight" series wearing the kind of makeup she put on for a Black Keys video in her feed this week. She and Danny Masterson both sported some new looks and posted pics.

The big trending topic in international news today, though, was WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange getting granted bail in London, where Michael Moore stepped in and got personally involved. His reaction to the situation and a roundup of Golden Globe nomination chatter have been retweeted for you after the jump.

Justin Bieber's newly announced 3-D biopic from director Davis Guggenheim turned some heads on Twitter today. It was just one part of a shock-and-awe day of tweets that included Christopher Mintz-Plasse trying out a new look and reactions to reports that Brett Favre may not be back next season in the NFL (which has come to be a Twitter-Wood annual event).

Elsewhere, Russell Brand tried to calm his followers after a Lamborghini he was driving was involved in an accident. Find out how he describes the incident after the jump where you'll also see what Elizabeth Banks thought of "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World."

Now that Apple's new iPhone 4 is official, Twitter discussions about the device are likely to get a lot more lively before it comes out at the end of the month. Simon Pegg and Warren Ellis both took notice, though the two of them may not be excited for the same reasons.

In other posts, we already knew that the MTV Movie Awards were trending, but the "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" trailer that showed up there caught some eyes too. Steve Agee wants into a screening pass pronto from director Edgar Wright who himself was quite entertained by Tom Cruise's performance at the MTV MA's as Les Grossman. Check out what he thought below, along with a few more tweets about the show and Eliza Dushku's Sunset Blvd. scuffle.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Since his comic book debut in 1990, Warren Ellis has been one of the most prolific writers in the comic industry with dozens of original creations in addition to several books for Marvel and DC.

Following the recent announcement that “Black Summer” was optioned by Vigilante Entertainment in addition to the upcoming film adaptations of his “Red” and “Gravel” series, it seems clear that Ellis has become an in-demand comic creator in Hollywood.

Jon FavreauMiley Cyrus felt the need to defend her single status today on Twitter in response to at least one unnamed blog. She sounds pretty adamant that there's no beau in the picture right now. Also adamant today was actor Charlie Bewley, whose body clock was not yet prepared to start filming his first scene for "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." He joined Cyrus in Twitter-Wood's feed to share his struggle.

John Stamos won my Twitter Pic of the Day honors yet again. Ice-T keeps making a run for it, but Stamos is on a streak right now breaking out images from his photo album. Today, he cued up a classic memory watchers of "Full House" will recognize, featuring the Olsen twins in their youth. Click onward, and you'll see all of this, as well as Tom Felton's reaction to stepping on the "Get Him to the Greek" set and Jon Favreau's micro-review of "District 9." It's in the Twitter-Wood report for August 21, 2009. Read More...

Russell BrandWarmoth's out, so I'm stepping in to cover today's Twitter-Wood beat. It's pretty daunting, manning this great ship Twitter-Wood. Brian has done a kickass job of turning this feature into a daily destination for a lot of people. And since he's not here, I feel compelled to give props where props are due. It ain't easy mining hundreds of celeb Tweets for worthwhile things to share. I would encourage you all to shout out Brian in future Twitter-Wood comments sections.

Today's feed features a cryptic message from comedian Eddie Izzard and a truth bomb sponsored by none other than Donnie Wahlberg. There also a hilarious one-liner from Russell Brand and comments from Ice T about his time spent yesterday with the video game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." All that plus some terrifying links from Wil Wheaton and Ryan Seacrest -- but for totally different reasons -- in today's Twitter-Wood, for July 16, 2009. Read More...
