FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: The release of the new Vanessa-Hudgens-starring flick "Beastly" is more than eight months away, but we learned from Summit Entertainment that its never too early to start advertising your sure-to-be-a-teen-hit. This week, the 21 second (actually, more like 16 second!) teaser trailer hit the Internet, but we're not so sure how we feel about it yet.

"This is my story," Alex Pettyfer says in his voiceover, "and this is my curse. Who am I? I'm you. Your ugliness, inside out."

I'm not going to lie to you: there's not a tremendous amount here about "Sucker Punch." Director Zack Snyder has prepped his cast well, so no one's really spilling the dirty. In the video after the jump, "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens does answer one burning question we have about her character Blondie. First check out her comments on acting and the sorts of roles she's been looking for in her post-"High School Musical" world.

Carla GuginoWhat would you rather see Carla Gugino dressed up in: a nurse’s uniform or a madam’s dress/corset? Fortunately for you fanboys, you’ll get both costumes in Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Sucker Punch.” Gugino is reuniting with her “Watchmen” director for the film, in which she’ll play a dual role. Of sorts.

The film takes place in a 1950s mental institution, where a young girl (Emily Browning) has been sent for a lobotomy. However, with the help of her friends (Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone and Abbie Cornish) she enters an alternate reality with hopes of escaping the hospital. Read more...

The film stars “High School Musical” cutie Vanessa Hudgens, and while she isn’t in the clip below, pretty much everyone else in the flick is, including rising star and blonde bombshell Alyson Michalka.

Check out the group’s first big rehearsal in the video below, and then click here to send your own “Bandslam” questions to Vanessa Hudgens, who you can peep in a different exclusive clip here. We’ll be posing some of the best to her and posting her video responses right here on Hollywood Crush! “Bandslam” hits theaters August 14.

Vanessa HudgensFROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: If our exclusive clip of Vanessa Hudgens strumming a guitar didn’t get you excited enough to check her out in the upcoming high school flick “Bandslam,” then here’s your chance to get even more of a V-Hud fill by chatting with the actress herself!

Zack SnyderDirector Zack Snyder, the eye-popping filmmaker behind “300” and “Watchmen,” has hired none other than Vanessa Hudgens to star in his next action flick, “Sucker Punch.” But without any real action-hero experience, was it just a matter of assuming the singing/dancing “High School Musical” star can do anything that’s physically demanding if she’s already twirled around a dance floor with Troy Bolton?

“No, I didn’t even look at it that way at first,” Snyder explained, echoing Hudgens' own excitement for the film about a group of institutionalized young girls using fantasy to escape. “She rehearsed, she did the audition for the scene. I wasn’t sure at first – [the casting people] were like ‘Oh, Vanessa’s coming’ and I was ‘Oh, okay - that sounds cool’ but I didn’t know what to think.” Read more...

As you all learned earlier today, "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens is very excited about her role in the upcoming Zack Snyder project, "Sucker Punch." Speaking with MTV's Matt Harper on the set of "Beastly," the singer gushed her affection for the "300" director's work, and her joy at being able to break away from her youth-oriented roots.

"Sucker Punch" tells the story of a wrongfully institutionalized young woman (Amanda Seyfried, at last report) who retreats into a fantasy world of her own creation as a coping mechanism. Hudgens will play Blondie, one of Seyfried's fellow inmates. Well here... why don't you see for yourself:

Don't go! There's more! Hudgens also had a bit to say on her audition for the role and how she landed the part-- but almost didn't. It's good stuff, so keep on reading after the jump. Read more...

Vanessa HudgensLast week, MTV's Matt Harper paid a visit to the set of "Beastly," opening July 2010, where he got a chance to sit down and chat with "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens. She happily discussed a range of topics, including her recent decision to pull back from the music a bit so she can focus on her acting. I can't say I blame her, given the upcoming gig she's got with "300" director Zack Snyder: "Sucker Punch."

"I'm extremely excited," Hudgens said. "When I read about the project I was like, ‘that’d be great, but its not going to happen’…and now it actually is!" The big draw for Hudgens is really the director himself. "It's an honor, I'm such a big fan of his work." Read more...

Vanessa HudgensMaybe Vanessa Hudgens didn't hear the same news we did about Leah Clearwater not appearing in "New Moon." The "High School Musical" star still seems to think that she has a chance of playing the part of the disgruntled female werewolf in the "Twilight" sequel.

"It's still a rumor; I'm really interested," she told "Extra." "I think it's a great project, but nothing's happening as of now."

Perhaps "nothing's happening" because earlier this month, Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote both films, told People that we won't be seeing Leah until the third movie, "Eclipse," set for 2010. "I'm not sure about [final] casting, but I had heard Vanessa Hudgens was going up for the part of Leah," Rosenberg said. "But at the moment, the part of Leah doesn't happen until the third movie."
