Drive

Deciding which romantic movie to watch on the day of romance can be enough to ruin the entire day. There's no need to sweat over a simple movie to watch together, so we took the time to list the movies you both can enjoy for different reasons.

Here are the Valentine's Day movies everyone can fall in love with.

"Casablanca" (1942)
For her: This all-time classic, at its heart, is a love story. Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman star in one of the most beloved love affairs in the history of film and shared one of the most memorable goodbyes ever. It's sure to dampen an eye or two.
For him: If any day of the year requires a positive male role model, it's Valentine's Day. Bogart will show you the ropes on how to woo women, smoke, and drink whiskey. We can't recommend the last two, but there's more than enough manliness to keep you interested if romance is not your thing.

Ashton KutcherIt's not every day audiences get to see Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Hilary Swank acting opposite Ashton Kutcher, Abigail Breslin and Lea Michele. But that's exactly what's likely to happen in "New Year's Eve." Gary Marshall's thematic follow-up to this year's "Valentine's Day" has plans to blow the previous film's ridiculous number of stars out of the water, and is already well on its way to doing so.

Breslin and Michele have already been announced, but today The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that De Niro, Pfeiffer, Swank and Kutcher are in negotiations for roles as well. And you can toss Hector Elizondo into the mix, too, because Marshall previously told MTV that the "Pretty Woman" actor "has to be in all my movies." Read More...

FROM MTV.COM: Looking for a rom-com fix this Valentine's weekend? Rather than fall for the calculated come-on of "Valentine's Day," you might want to revisit some much better films instead. For example:

» "Jerry Maguire"
» "Moonstruck"
» "Knocked Up"
» "House of 1000 Corpses"

Okay, I exaggerate. "Valentine's Day" does have a few good lines, and a couple of lively performances. But the movie is overstuffed with plot and characters; they're confusing to keep up with, and not all that interesting even when you're able to figure them out.

The story takes place on ... well, you know what day it takes place on. Ashton Kutcher is a love-struck Los Angeles florist who's just proposed to his sleep-over girlfriend, Jessica Alba. "I can be a sappy moron all day," he crows, with unwarranted presumption, "because it's Valentine's Day." His best friend, Jennifer Garner, is happy for him, in part because she's finally found Mr. Right — a doctor played by Patrick Dempsey, whose many endearing qualities include a talent for juggling fruit (among other things, if you get my meaning).

FROM MTV.COM: In the "Valentine's Day" trailers, Ashton Kutcher pops the question pretty early in the day to his onscreen love, Jessica Alba. And, in real life, he goes by a similar Valentine's Day mantra: You should always kick off the romance of the day ASAP.

"I'm generally a morning person myself," he told MTV News while promoting "Valentine's Day," opening Friday. "I actually think that Valentine's Day must start first thing in the morning. I really, really do believe the only way you're really going to catch somebody off-guard on Valentine's Day is when they're waking up."

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: While it is cool for us to get to see tons of stars get together in a film like in this week's "Valentine's Day," it must be even cooler for the stars themselves to get to work with so many of their peers. When Jessica Alba sat down with MTV to discuss the film, she admitted that she was dying to work with all of the cast members in the film, even though the plot didn't allow for it.

"The cast is amazing. From Kathy Bates to Queen Latifah to Julia Roberts, Shirley McClaine, I mean it's nuts," she admitted.
