It sounds like a Natalie Portman/Wachowski siblings reunion could be in the cards after all.
The three first worked together on 2006's "V for Vendetta," Portman's first big post-"Star Wars" film. Then when the Wachowskis started casting for their latest, "Cloud Atlas," Portman's was one of the first names that popped up in association with the project. She ultimately passed, but now reports are saying that Lana and Andy Wachowski are courting Portman again to star in their upcoming sci-fi, "Jupiter Ascending."
A source close to the project told The Los Angeles Times blog 24 Frames that Portman is "seriously weighing taking the part." This would be her first role since "Thor," and her first new film since she won her Oscar last year for "Black Swan."

Today is the 4th of July, a day in which you should, as one relative of a popular "Simpsons" character once put it, "celebrate the birth of your nation by blowing up a small part of it." What would Independence Day be without fireworks? Incredibly boring.
Let's face it though. Fireworks are only exciting when you're watching them live. That's why you don't see them so much in movies. Explosions though, those are an action flick hallmark. So while you're beating the heat during the daytime hours today, waiting for the sun to extinguish and the fireworks to fly, why not settle in with some popcorn and air conditioning while the following five movies delight you with their memorable scenes of mass destruction. FROM SPLASH PAGE: Do you remember, remember, the fifth of November? Aside from being the day after the New York Yankees won the 2009 World Series, it's also widely known as Guy Fawkes Day—a day that has some significance not just for our revolutionary-minded readers, but also for comic book fans in general thanks to Alan Moore's "V For Vendetta."
Guy Fawkes, a 17th century revolutionary, attempted to blow up England's Parliament building on November 5, 1605, in what is now commonly referred to as as the Gunpowder Plot. After getting caught, tortured and subsequently executed by British authorities, Fawkes' efforts and likeness became immortalized through parables, rhymes and other such stories—including comic books.

Edgar Allan Poe is no stranger to the movies. His literature has been adapted to film as early as 1908 and he was first portrayed onscreen in a D.W. Griffith short a year later. So it’s not always that exciting to hear about another Poe project in the works. However, I am very intrigued by this new movie coming from “V for Vendetta” director James McTeigue, which will fictionalize the writer’s mysterious final days.
/Film got the scoop on this project while interviewing McTeigue at San Diego Comic-Con. His latest, the upcoming “Ninja Assassin,” was screened at SDCC and it opens this November. The Poe project is titled “The Raven,” though it’s not exactly based on the writer’s avian-centric poem. McTeigue claims it’s like a cross between Poe’s “The Raven” and the David Fincher film “Se7en.” Scripted by Hannah Shakespeare (Kevin Bacon’s “Loverboy”) and Ben Livingston, “The Raven” follows Poe as he hunts for a serial killer inspired by his stories.
