Jeremy RennerThe "Bourne" movies have a new leading man: Jeremy Renner.

Weeks after Renner's name first surfaced as a "Bourne" candidate over at Latino Review, it's now been confirmed that "The Hurt Locker" star has been offered the lead in Tony Gilroy's "The Bourne Legacy." Fans of the first three installments of the series, take comfort that Renner isn't replacing Matt Damon. Rather, the 40-year-old star will reportedly play an operative who is part of a covert government program that creates assassins like Bourne.

Renner beat out the likes of rumored could-be Bournes such as Alex Pettyfer, Dominic Cooper, and Joel Edgerton (more on him in today's Casting Call.) In addition to carrying on the new "Bourne" franchise, Renner is also in the works to take over the "Mission: Impossible" flicks and is taking part in the upcoming "Avengers" reboot.

Check out the rest of Friday's biggest casting news in Hollywood including Tom Cruise's next project, as well as Josh Brolin joining a gang of "Gangsters."

Little Miss SunshineFor those of you out there hoping that the next film "Little Miss Sunshine" directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will make after their 2006 indie darling will be its sequel, continue holding your breath. But they're bringing us the next best thing.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Dayton and Faris are reteaming with "Little Miss Sunshine" star Paul Dano to headline their new dramedy, and producers Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa are back for more as well. The film, "He Loves Me," is written by and will costar Dano's real-life girlfriend, Zoe Kazan, and is described as "Adaptation" meets "Weird Science."

Berger told the Times that "the plot couldn't be more different than 'Little Miss Sunshine,' but in terms of a movie with comedy, with heart and with strong characters, I think it's very similar."

This is far from the first time directors have reteamed with some of their favorite actors for great results -- click past the jump for some other notable examples -- and we hope that "He Loves Me" can rank up there with them.

"Bel Ami" is a popular upcoming release in the "Twilight" fan community, largely because it features intimate scenes between stars Uma Thurman and Robert Pattinson. The story follows Pattinson's Georges Duroy as he ascends the society ladder in France, using his sex appeal to get him there.

We already know there are some downright dirty scenes, but MTV's Josh Horowitz asked Pattinson at the weekend junket for "Eclipse" exactly what the score is: who gets more bare skin screen time, Uma or Robert?

In "Bel Ami," an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's 1885 novel, "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson plays Georges Duroy, the ruthless main character who schemes his way to a position of power by manipulating high society women in France. As the newly released pic below illustrates, Uma Thurman is one of those consorts. Click the image to check out the other pic, which features Pattinson looking very serious.

FROM MTV.COM: "New York, I Love You" star Christina Ricci is reportedly joining Robert Pattinson and Uma Thurman in the film "Bel Ami," according to a tweet from ProductionWeekly.com. A rep for Ricci had not responded to MTV News' requests for comment at press time.

"Bel Ami," filming for which is slated to begin next month in Paris, is an adaptation of an 1885 Guy de Maupassant short story and stars Pattinson as young journalist George Duroy, who rises from rags to riches by seducing Paris' influential society women. Ricci will play Clotilde de Marelle, the wife of an oft-away railway inspector who strikes up a relationship with Duroy. The film also stars Thurman as Clotilde's friend Madeleine Forestier, a onetime friend and mentor who becomes Duroy's lover, and Kristin Scott Thomas as another of Duroy's socialite paramours.

FROM MTV.COM: As soon as Robert Pattinson loses one high-profile leading lady, he gains another one for his upcoming film "Bel Ami." Of course, Nicole Kidman was never officially booked for the movie — an offer went out, but a deal was never solidified — but now everyone's favorite "Twilight" vampire is set to star opposite Uma Thurman in the picture, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Bel Ami" is an adaptation of 19th-century French writer Guy de Maupassant's short story of the same name. The plot follows Georges Duroy (Pattinson), a Parisian journalist and notorious ladies' man who overcomes a poverty-stricken childhood to become one of the city's foremost movers and shakers. Thurman is set to play the wife of Duroy's friend who eventually marries him after assisting in his personal and professional rise in French society.

The exclusive clip below, from the Uma Thurman-starring "Motherhood," doesn't actually feature Minnie Driver riding on a submarine. She talks about it, sort of. It's... well, it's complicated. Or maybe "tricky" is a better word. I think you should just watch the clip and see for yourself.

In 2005, Quentin Tarantino told MTV News that we'd have to wait a full decade until he revisited "Kill Bill" territory and brought Uma Thurman's Bride back for a third film in the series. "Uma's got to get 10 years older, the little girl has to grow up and everything," he explained.

And whaddya know, before this decade has closed out, the director has started to hint that we might actually see another "Bill" within that time frame. "The Bride will fight again!" he told an Italian TV station.

We just spoke with Thurman, who is in town promoting her upcoming comedy, "Motherhood," and we asked the actress if she'd spoken with Tarantino about the new movie. Read More...

This is it folks. Today is the last day of our "favorite Quentin Tarantino character" poll. You spoken loud and clear with your clicks. And unless today brings some massive upset, "Pulp Fiction"'s Jules Winnfield -- and the memorable Sam Jackson performance responsible for him -- is the big winner with (as of now) 44% of your votes. "Kill Bill"'s The Bride (Uma Thurman) is the closest competitor, at 21%. And my pick? Poor Max Cherry (Robert Forster), from "Jackie Brown"? The big loser, at 2%. All this tells me is that "Brown" really is QT's most underrated effort.

In the below video, the director and "Inglourious Basterds" star Brad Pitt describe audience reactions to what is ultimately a funny World War II movie. They focus specifically on a German audience screening, and the crowd's at-first tentative response to the humor.

Hit the jump for your last chance to give Max Cherry his due in the poll! Read More...

Uma ThurmanUma Thurman never fails to impress me with her effortless ability to genre hop. While she's been playing it pretty loose and goofy since wielding that samurai sword in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" duology, her next project looks to straighten her right up.

Thurman is set to lend her luminosity to "Girl Soldier," the true and tragic story of 140 Ugandan girls who were kidnapped and enslaved in 1996. According to Variety,, "Soldier" is based on Kathy Cook's firsthand account of the incident, "Stolen Angels." Read More...
