Obviously, “Twilight” fans are eager to see next month’s movie mainly because it’s based on a best-selling book that they’ve loved for years. But one facet of the phenomena that has been overlooked by the media is how effectively Catherine Hardwicke and crew have cast virtual-unknown actors who not only have the potential to become big stars but are — gasp! — nice, normal people.
Over the last few months, we’ve discussed the way Michael Welch bonded with his fans over socks, Kellan Lutz’s love for energy drinks and candy, and Robert Pattinson’s playful games with the Twilighters who love him. A little while back, we asked “Twilight” fans to predict which of the movie’s young actors – from Taylor Lautner to Anna Kendrick to Kellan Lutz – would become the biggest Hollywood A-lister in the years to come. You can still cast your vote, but it sure looks like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are your consensus picks at the moment.
This week’s “Twilight” Tuesday shines a spotlight on Cam Gigandet, so it seems only fair to point out that if you focus solely at the current projects these actors have lined up, this guy’s future is so bright he has to wear shades.
“I’m about to head off to Berlin for a movie called ‘Pandorum,’” he told us when he stopped by the MTV studios recently. “It’s a sci-fi thriller movie starring Ben Foster and Dennis Quaid, and it’s an intense movie; it’s going to be good.” Read more...

"Twilight" fans know the movie is going to be huge. But Hollywood big-shots aren't usually motivated by the same squealing, giddy impulses as the rest of us, and we're going to have to wait until the box-office numbers come in before real talk on a "New Moon" movie begins.
That's got to be hard for someone like Taylor Lautner, who knows that his best scenes as Jacob Black are yet to come. When I spoke to him about his upcoming gig as a presenter at the VMAs with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, I asked if he had to try not to think too much about the sequels.
"As much as you try not to, you always do, because you're like, 'Oh my gosh, that would be so much fun and so cool,' " he said. "But nothing's confirmed yet, so I try not to get my hopes up too high."
