ThorThe summer blockbuster season is rapidly approaching and the tweets are alive with excitement. Arguably, the first big film opens May 6th and comes in the form of a hammer-wielding warrior named "Thor." Leave it to Seth MacFarlane to point out the most exciting thing about the Norse God.

For us, summer blockbuster season usually means obnoxiously-excited-for-new-Pixar-movies season. We're counting down the days until "Cars 2," but one "Finding Nemo" star is upset that a sequel is not in her future.

Meanwhile, "Rio" slayed "Scream 4" at the box office this weekend and star Tracy Morgan finally gets his promotional groove on. And another comedian is celebrating Passover this year, albeit under a new name.

I'm @TravisHelwig and this is Twitter-Wood for April 19th, 2011.

The 2011 Sundance Film Festival kicked off today in Park City, Utah, and you've probably noticed that MTV has already been featuring clips and set visits from many of the fest's most anticipated flicks. Well, we've got another one for you, and it's a doozy: the trailer premiere for Sundance's big closing-night film "Son Of No One," featuring a stellar ensemble cast that includes Channing Tatum, Katie Holmes, Al Pacino, Ray Liotta, Juliette Binoche and -- in his first true dramatic role -- "30 Rock" funnyman Tracy Morgan. Check out the trailer below.

Directed by Sundance vet Dito Montiel ("A Guide to Recognizing Our Saints," "Fighting"), "Son of No One" follows two friends (Tatum and Morgan) forced to face the consequences of a murder they committed -- and got away with -- 16 years earlier. Tatum's character Jonathan "Milk" White has gone on to a successful career with the police force and has a happy home life with his wife (Holmes) and Child. Morgan's character Vinnie has kind of gone the other way. When Milk is assigned to the precinct where he grew up, his decade-and-a-half-old secret threatens to tear apart his life and his family. Producers of the upcoming vicious fishies flick, "Piranha 3-D," are positioning their film to become "Jaws" for the 21st Century. If an unsourced rumor floated on the Internet earlier this month is to be believed, the studio behind 1975's "Jaws" is determined to have their shark-infested-waters classic remade to become the "Jaws" for the 21st Century, possibly with Tracy Morgan in the lead role.

When we caught up with Mogan on the red carpet for his upcoming buddy-actioner "Cop Out," we had the opportunity to put the question to the comedian himself. Has Universal approached the "30 Rock" star with the idea for a new "Jaws" with Morgan in the role originated by Richard Dreyfuss (who just so happens to have a role in "Piranha")?

"Not yet," he replied. "Not yet." Read More...

Tracy Morgan may have had the most re-tweeted post of the day in my personal Twitter follow feed. I've re-tweeted it myself so that you can find out what he'll do for $15.

In other Twitter news, David Slade elaborated on a photo he posted yesterday, clarifying that the headlight shown does belong to Bella Swan's truck in "Eclipse." And speaking of "Twilight" movies, Jamie Campbell Bower took top honors for Twitter Pic of the Day today. I'm not entirely sure what his sign means or what promises he's fulfilling for his fans, but you can check it out and make that judgment for yourselves. Check all of those quotes and pics out below, along with Lindsay Lohan's paparazzi triumph, the puppet that hit on Ice-T's wife and much more. It's all after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for October 21, 2009. Read More...

Could Hollywood really be making a movie that will be marketed on billboards and marquees nationwide as “A Couple of Dicks”? The answer is yes… and, well… no.

“That was everyone’s intention, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen,” Adam Brody told MTV recently, echoing Kevin Smith’s statements that he may have to change the name of his now-wrapped Bruce Willis-Tracy Morgan buddy cop comedy. “We were talking about [changing the name]; you can’t really advertise that before 9[pm on TV] if that’s the case, so that really hampers [the studio].” Read More...

Ice-TToday's Daily TwitPic seems fairly innocuous at first glance. Tracy Morgan hanging with Tracy Marrow, aka Ice-T. The dour rapper-turned-"Law & Order: SVU" investigator couldn't even muster a smile standing next to "30 Rock"'s funniest rabble-rouser, but that's not what concerns me. Look into Ice-T's eyes. I know you see it. He's gone "Thriller" on us!

Sure, sure... I'm aware of the red eye effect in photography. It's a put-on. Ice isn't the victim of a camera flashbulb. Oh no... it's clear that he's something else entirely. A werewolf. Just you wait, people. Morgan is smiling in that photo. It was his last, make no mistake. "30 Rock" is in for a ratings dive after Morgan comes back and turns the rest of the cast. And then its over for us all. Let's face it: if Jack McBrayer (Kenneth the Page!) shows up at your door, red werewolf eyes or not, you're going to let him in. And so will begin humanity's slow transformation into a culture of werewolves. Read More...

Will ArnettWow is this a busy week. After the runaway success of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" last week -- and other shoe-in blockbusters in the weeks before it -- it's nice to see a little bit of variety for Friday's releases. "G-Force," with showings in two and three dimensions both, is an easy weekend win for families, provided they're not making a repeat (or first-time) trip to Hogwarts.

The CG animated adventure about a secret agent force of talking guinea pigs is a big-ticket item for a number of reasons. It is Disney's first (non-concert) live-action release shot in Digital 3-D. It is also produced by blockbuster-meister Jerry Bruckheimer in his 3-D debut. Then there's the knockout ensemble cast, which includes Nicolas Cage, Penélope Cruz, Steve Buscemi, Tracy Morgan, Will Arnett, Bill Nighy and Zach Galifianakis. Yeah, wow. Read More...

So Kevin Smith has never once directed a film not based on his own script, but when you consider some of the films he’s been offered in the past and rejected—including two fantasy/comedy hybrids, Matthew McConaughey’s “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” and Eddie Murphy’s upcoming “Imagine That”—the I-only-direct-my-own-stuff stance was probably a wise decision on Mr. Smith’s part.

Yet with his Bruce Willis/Tracy Morgan buddy cop flick, “A Couple of Dicks,” Smith has finally taken the leap into someone else’s script. Why this film, and why now? His rationale is rooted in his formative movie-going experiences, when his dad would take him out of school to go to a matinee at the theater. Read More...

Bruce WillisYesterday afternoon, news broke on the blogosphere that Kevin Smith's next movie would be "A Couple of Dicks." This was surprising to everyone, since he had stressed that "Red State" would be next on his plate, with a sci-fi comedy to follow.

Just as everyone was getting used to the idea of a new Smith project, and one that wasn't scripted by him (the script has been floating on the famous Black List, a yearly chronicle of best unmade scripts in Hollywood), the casting announcements came in. According to Variety, Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan are set to star -- and the film has been given a clean and shiny new title: "A Couple of Cops." Read More...

Tracy MorganThe most famous scam on the Internet is now going to be a Tracy Morgan comedy. According to Variety, Morgan and T.J. Miller (better known as Hud the cameraman in "Cloverfield") have signed on to star in "Roommates" for Paramount Pictures.

The comedy is centered around the famous Nigerian e-mail scams -- the ones where a prince, princess, prime minister, or political refugee e-mails you promising you millions if you would help them smuggle their money out of the country using your own bank account. For Miller's drunken freshman, it doesn't seem suspicious at all, and he replies offering to help a Nigerian prince access a lost fortune. Read More...
