Vin DieselTalk about Judgment Day — while Arnold Schwarzenegger puts his movie career on hold, Vin Diesel gets ready to launch a "Terminator"-like franchise of his own.

THR
reports that Diesel is producing and starring in "The Machine," a new movie that centers on "a human-like machine created in secrecy by the Pentagon as the world's first true ultimate weapon." Twenty years after it's decommissioned and buried away, the machine is discovered by a child and the two become friends. Sounds kind of like "Terminator" meets "Iron Giant," doesn't it?

After the jump, check out the latest "Hunger Games" casting news and find out who's playing "The Transporter" in the new TV series!

Indira Gandhi, India's first and only female Prime Minister, is getting a much-deserved biopic, and big name actors are being wooed for star-studded cameos. According to The Daily Telegraph, Helen Mirren is in talks to return to the role of Queen Elizabeth II, who she won an Oscar for playing in 2006's "The Queen." Emily Watson, meanwhile, has been cast as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Other expected -- or at least sought-after -- portrayals include Tom Hanks as Lyndon Johnson, Tommy Lee Jones as Richard Nixon and Albert Finney as British actor Peter Ustinov.

The biopic, titled "Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story," will be released in two parts, a la Steven Soderbergh's "Che" films. Both will be directed by Indian filmmaker Krishna Shah, who last helmed a pair of American B-movies called "Hard Rock Zombies" and "American Drive-In" back in 1985. Since then he seems to have primarily been a producer of "Sleepaway Camp" sequels. Playing the lead role of Gandhi is Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit, of the very entertaining and hugely successful Indian film "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun...!" (I highly recommend it to anyone curious about modern Bollywood cinema). Read more...

Following his critically acclaimed feature-directorial debut, "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada," Tommy Lee Jones is ready for his next big gig behind the camera. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning actor will direct and co-star in an adaptation of Michael Connelly's best-selling crime novel "The Lincoln Lawyer."

Despite the the title, this is not yet another project involving our 16th President (though it could be a fitting but misleading alternate title for Robert Redford's "The Conspirator"). Instead it's about a criminal defense lawyer (Matthew McConaughey) who works out of his car -- a Lincoln Town Car. Used to representing small time criminals, his career takes a turn when he begins handling the case of a wealthy realtor accused of attempted murder. Read more...

Ben AffleckWe may be able to prop up our failing economy purely by the amount of films being made about it. The latest is John Wells' independent drama "The Company Men," which has just attracted Kevin Costner and Tommy Lee Jones. They're joining Ben Affleck, who has been attached since last fall and can say he was doing economy-themed films before anyone else.

According to Variety, the film's theme is something we can all relate to -- the effect corporate downsizing has on those who are fired, and those left behind to keep it all running.

Affleck will play a corporate hotshot who loses everything (his Porsche, his enormous six figure salary, probably his friends and penthouse apartment too) after he's fired. Costner will play his brother-in-law, an ordinary guy who installs drywall, and gives his brother a construction job. Read more...
