Everyone knows the story of Tom Thumb -- a man no bigger than your favorite finger, who is always getting into frightening accidents due to his tiny size. He's like the medieval Mr. Bill, only he usually escapes being squashed or eaten just in the nick of time. And now Hollywood Reporter says the legendary character is getting a new feature treatment courtesy of Warner Bros., with Tom going the CGI route in a live-action world, a la "Alvin and the Chipmunks."
While personally I'm freaked out by the entire concept of a little man smaller than an action figure, the studio has lined up some surprising talent for this. At the helm will be director Kevin Lima, who was behind the wonderful "Enchanted." And the script is being penned by Robert Rodat, who boasts none other than "Saving Private Ryan" on his resume.
