Emma Watson

Guillermo del Toro is attached to direct a new take on "Beauty and the Beast," with Emma Watson set to star. It’s a long-rumored collaboration that I've been looking forward to greatly, as del Toro is one of the most visual directors of our time and will also likely be able to coax a very un-Hermione performance out of Watson.

The Hollywood Reporter has the news, adding that Andrew Davies will write the script. But the idea of Watson as Belle in "Beauty and the Beast" got us wondering what other "Harry Potter" stars would fit well in a movie inspired by a fairytale. Surprisingly, there are quite a few. Hollywood, feel free to pilfer our ideas.

Transformers

There may or may not be more "Transformers" movies in Michael Bay's future, but for now, the stars who previously battled the robots in disguise are still getting along. "Transformers" actors Tyrese Gibson and Ken Jeong reunited over the weekend, and perhaps there's more than meets the eye to their mention of "JS" -- Jason Statham, perhaps? Your guess is as good as ours!

Meanwhile, "Harry Potter" and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" bad boy Tom Felton conquered Table Mountain over the weekend, Rainn Wilson made a shocking confession about his bathroom behavior and Christopher Mintz-Plasse may have stumbled upon his own secret Spider-Man origin.

After many rumors and much hoopla, Matt Damon is finally lining up his directorial debut.

Variety has learned that Damon and "The Office" star John Krasinski have co-written a currently untitled script that Damon will now helm. The idea originated between Krasinski and "Away We Go" writer Dave Eggers, and then Damon came on board. The film would follow a salesman who reevaluates his life after moving to a small town, with Damon playing the salesman. The flick is currently set up at Warner Bros, and should start shooting soon on the east coast.

FROM MTV MOVIES: Although this year's big blockbuster box-office record-breaker, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" is still reeling in the dough at theaters — we're only in week three of its release, after all — it's never too early to start thinking about what might be on the DVD and Blu-Ray versions of the film when it's released in November.

MTV News caught up with "Potter" actor Tom Felton on Thursday at the premiere of his other film being released this year, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," to find out what more of Draco Malfoy we might see on the DVD.

With “Deathly Hallows Part 2” officially out in theaters, fans are finally saying goodbye to "Harry Potter," the decade-long film series that brought J.K. Rowling’s novels to life. The closing epilogue sequence will be an emotional farewell for fans and actors alike but for Rupert Grint, who became famous for his portrayal of Ron Weasley, it was a “weird scene to film.”

He is referring of course to the careful combination of make-up and computer effects that -- SPOILER ALERT, by the way -- ages Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Draco by a full 19 years. “I mean the images of me still haunt me,” he stated, “It was like this monster/Donald Trump kind of mixture, it was very scary.” Apparently, Grint wasn’t the only one who was a little unsettled by the results.

The Harry Potter World Cup has been raging on for the better part of a month now, and after 64 wizards and witches stepped into the ring, we've finally whittled down the playing field to two: Severus Snape versus Ron Weasley. It. Is. On!

Voting ends later today, and with percentages closed from public view, it's truly anybody's game at this point. But some of the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" cast members couldn't resist placing their bets on who's going to win the World Cup — including Tom Felton, better known as Draco Malfoy. The two-time MTV Movie Award-winning Best Villain was knocked out of the competition in the Elite Eight, but he's still keeping an eye on who's going to take the top prize home.

Unsurprisingly, Tom is sticking with his Slytherin roots. "Snape," he declared without hesitation. "He's gonna take the crown, man."

"Everyone loves Snape. He has the greatest story of the lot, I think, where you don't know which he's going to be the whole way," he added. "He has a beautiful ending, doesn't he? I didn't expect that at all. It's so nice to see this hard character Snape turn into this soft shell of a man."

The apes might not be rising for another month and a half, but today we have a new trailer and a whole slew of new photos for you from the upcoming summer blockbuster.

"Rise of the Planet of the Apes" has already proved to have beyond stellar CGI in the trailers that have been released, but these new images of Caesar (voiced by Andy Serkis) show the depth of detail that actually went into creating these computer-generated apes. Caesar looks genuinely real, and the still of him bonding with the ailing Charles (played by John Lithgow) looks really, really beautiful.

There were so many great moments that occurred at this year's Movie Awards, both on and off camera, our head are still spinning trying to remember and/or repurpose them all for everyone to see.

One of our favorite backstage moments involved a chance meeting between favorite "Harry Potter" star Tom Felton, and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

Minutes after accepting his second Movie Award for Best Villain, MTV News was chatting up Felton about the win and where he'll keep his golden popcorn, when Grohl suddenly jumped into the frame.

"Hey, what are you guys talking about?" Grohl directed at Felton and MTV, after which we informed the Foo that we were chatting with Felton about his big win.

Fans might have to wait until July 15 for the end of "Harry Potter" to finally come, but for stars Emma Watson and Tom Felton, the end came a long time ago.

MTV News caught up with Felton backstage at the MTV Movie Awards and asked him how he felt about the series coming to an end. "It's been over, like, a year and a half since we shot it," he said. Watson had similar sentiments, saying that it was "very strange" that the final "Potter" press tour would be taking place in little over a month.

When asked if she would shed any more tears over the "Potter" franchise, Watson laughed and said, "Maybe a few. Maybe one or two. Just little ones."
