JGLWe reported on it weeks ago, but it was made official yesterday: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotilliard will be joining the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises." And if it wasn't for Twitter, we'd have no idea how meta this casting really was.

According to the James Cameron blockbuster "The Terminator," the artificial intelligence in the Skynet program went live yesterday, which means that our inevitable destruction is just hours away! Since we're all about to die, you might as well read a few predictions for what might be in store for the robot apocalypse.

And a beautiful actress talks about filming love scenes! We won't give it away, but it involves lots and lots of high fives.

I'm @TravisHelwig and this Twitter-Wood for April 20th, 2011.

Tina FeyTina Fey and director Paul Weitz have dealt with the pitfalls of high-school life in "Mean Girls" and "American Pie," respectively, and now they're graduating and heading to college.

According to Variety, "30 Rock" actress Fey is in discussions to star in Universal's "Admission," where she would play an admissions officer at Princeton.

"Admission" is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Jean Hanff Korelitz. It follows admissions officer Portia Nathan, a woman who is overly dedicated to her job and finds purpose in her gatekeeper role. She lands herself in a difficult situation when she meets a talented but rough-around-the-edges 17-year-old from a poor New England town named Jeremiah who might not be "Princeton material" despite his talent. It forces her to confront issues in her own past and leads her into a career-endangering fight with Princeton admissions. Read More...

MTV's Fall Preview week of exclusives continues today with a look at the hottest upcoming movies of the next four months. We know what you should see and why you should see it, and we've got it all right here. Keep it locked to MTV News and MTV Movies Blog for continued updates throughout the week!

What's It Called: "Megamind"

What It's About: An alien super-villain manages to finally kill off his superhero arch-nemesis... only to discover that his life no longer has any purpose. In his depression he creates a new hero for him to match wits against... only the newcomer decides to use his powers for evil, thus forcing our downtrodden super-villain to protect the people he once sought to dominate.

Who's In It: Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Tina Fey, David Cross, Justin Long. Directed by Tom McGrath.

Why You Should Care: Honestly, the year has been pretty crowded with first-class animated films, to the point that this is the second one in 2010 to feature a super-villain who is forced to turn over a new leaf. That being said, "Megamind" features a dynamite cast and a cool story of its own. Day one ticket purchase right here.

When Can You See It: November 5

In "Date Night," which opens tomorrow, Tina Fey and Steve Carell play a married couple who try to reignite the spark in their relationship with a romantic night out. Things go sour for them when they inadvertently cross some mobsters. MTV's Josh Horowitz recently sat down with the duo at the movie's press junket, and he put them through a little compatibility test. For no reason really, other than to find out if they both prefer "Star Wars" to "Star Trek" (like any sane person should). Check out the video below then head over to Hollywood Crush for the full story.

One of the more exciting comedic pairings in movies this year is Tina Fey and Steve Carell in "Date Night." The duo star as an unhappily married couple who try to bring a little romance back into their lives with a night out on the town. Things get a little crazy when a case of mistaken identity lands them in hot water with the mob.

In the clip below, Fey and Carell worry over the dire consequences of losing an important piece of technology. After all... nobody wants to be "wacked off."

Tina Fey and Steve CarellSteve Carell and Tina Fey are getting married. Well, not really. Just in fiction land. And maybe not even there. Really, the whole marriage thing is an uncertain proposition.

Should Carell and Fey choose to tie the knot on the big screen, it would come in the form of "Mail-Order Groom," a Warner Bros. Comedy in which Fey would star as "a naïve single woman who can't find love and ends up with a husband from Eastern Europe, bringing him home to the States," according to The Hollywood Reporter. --This news just arrived in my mailbox, so consider it hot off the presses. Overture Films has issued a casting announcement for Matt Reeves' "Let Me In," a remake of the Swedish vampire flick "Let the Right One In." Joining the cast are Kodi Smit-McPhee ("The Road"), Chloe Moretz ("500 Days of Summer") and Richard Jenkins ("The Visitor").

--As if the badass trailer for Chris Nolan's "Inception" wasn't enough to get you excited, there's more news on the hush-hush project today. IMAX Corporation announced that the sci-fi flick will hit IMAX theaters and regular theaters simultaneously on July 16, 2010. And yes, that is too long to wait for something that looks so freaking cool. (ComingSoon) Read More...

MTV Movies editor Josh Horowitz is out of the country right now, gallivanting around the Toronto International Film Festival while the rest of us madly prepare for Sunday's 2009 Video Music Awards here in New York City. Josh got there yesterday, and he hit the ground running. There's plenty more to come from TIFF, but for now please enjoy these impressions of "The Invention of Lying," starring and directed by Ricky Gervais.

Is there such a thing as a genial black comedy? If so, “The Invention of Lying” might be it. This marks two Toronto fests in a row when a Ricky Gervais-starrer has screened (and junketed). I’ll be talking to Gervais, his leading lady, Jennifer Garner (don’t worry Ricky mocks this unlikely genetic coupling more than you possibly fathom), and Rob Lowe (in a typically nefarious turn—see “Wayne’s World 2” for reference.). Ricky Gervais called during the 11 a.m. opening day screening of "Grindhouse." Said he loved the script, wanted to make the movie, asked how soon could we meet to get everything started?

Pacing around the movie theater lobby on his cell phone while "Grindhouse" blared away inside, Matthew Robinson thought for sure he was being punked. Yeah, he knew his script for a high-concept comedy about a world in which lying does not exist had gotten into Gervais' hands, but this just didn't happen in Hollywood. Sounded like a "Twilight Zone" episode, which was how he came up with the script idea anyway. Yet two weeks later he was sitting with his comedy hero rewriting the script and on September 25th, two and a half years after that first phone call, "The Invention of Lying" will arrive in theaters. MadagascarDreamWorks Animation and its recently renewed CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg today unveiled big announcements for the studio's animation plans through 2012, with new sequels for the "Shrek," "Kung-Fu Panda," and "Madagascar" franchises and parts for Robert Downey Jr. and Tina Fey in next year's "Oobermind." The flurry of announcements came during an investor's call in which Katzenberg also issued an edict that all forthcoming Dreamworks Animation features will be produced in 3-D.

"We now have three very successful franchises, but we also want to tell new stories," DWA co-prexy of production Bill Damaschke told Variety. "Now, in addition to one or two sequels a year, we’ll have a new original as well." Read More...
