The friendship between "Toy Story" heroes Woody and Buzz Lightyear has remained an animated affair — until now.

Tom Hanks
and Tim Allen could bring their partnership to the live-action realm for Disney's "Jungle Cruise," based on the Magic Kingdom theme park. Deadline reports that Disney is trying to bring our favorite "Toy Story" leads together, with Roger S.H. Schulman writing the script. No directors are attached yet and Hanks and Allen's participation is not finalized at this stage.

Beyond the "Jungle Cruise" news, we've got word on Jonah Hill's possible directorial debut and a sexy zombie project from Nicholas Hoult. Read on for more!

"Toy Story 3" is among the best movies we're going to see this summer, closing a tale that Pixar started 15 years ago with the release of their debut feature "Toy Story." All reports so far have indicated that we've seen the end of Woody and Buzz Lightyear's adventures in feature films. That doesn't mean Pixar isn't prepared for things to go another way, however.

TheWrap is reporting that Buzz voice actor Tim Allen is contractually bound to return for more "Toy Story" if another sequel moves forward. I agree with TheWrap's assessment, that this in no way means a fourth movie is coming; it's just a pretty standard contract clause for franchise actors.

No, if Disney/Pixar is considering a fourth "Toy Story" feature, it likely has more to do with the fact that the movie has so far grossed more than $500 million worldwide.

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, there have never been a group of moviemakers better at appealing to multiple generations than the dudes over at Disney. During the last decade-and-a-half, they’ve received a major assist from Pixar and this weekend the powerhouse movie entities join forces again to bring the first two “Toy Story” films back in 3-D. Recently, we caught up with Tim Allen and he weighed in on whether Buzz Lightyear’s return to cinemas is motivated by money, nostalgia, the opportunity for a new audience – or all of the above.

“Disney loves these projects, and those of us involved in [the ‘Toy Story’ franchise] think it’s a good idea to see these in theaters again,” explained Allen, who voices Buzz. “That’s what it’s about, really. It’s not like Disney needs the coin. That’s not what this is about, people! This is about love - in the shape of greenbacks.” Read More...

Every now and then a movie comes along that delights millions, but ticks off just as many with its safe, non-threatening, seemingly formulaic plotline. I'm thinking back to “RV,” “Doctor Dolittle,” even the “Ernest Goes To/Saves [insert location/event here]” films that puzzled so many with their success back in the day. Well the latest in this tradition might just be “Wild Hogs,” a harmless trifle of a family film that employed big stars and scatological humor to attract $169 million worth of viewers in 2007. And now there's a sequel on the way.

Recently, at Disney’s D23 Conference, it was announced that the sequel had been titled “Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride” and that it would begin filming soon. So when I caught up with Tim Allen recently, I had to get the scoop on where he and his biker brothers would be heading next. Read More...
