Rainn Wilson owes me a bobblehead doll. I suppose I should have known something like the below was possible when I brought the bestselling NBC toy(?) with me to my interview with him the other day. But does anyone ever really expect to see a man break a toy of himself? Words don't do the situation justice. Check out the star of "The Rocker" wreak havoc below.
MTV was the first to bring you news about Rainn Wilson's casting in "Transformers: Rise of the Fallen" so of course we chatted up "The Rocker" star when he swung by the offices the other day about the part that he has since filmed.
Wilson admitted that he hadn't read the entire script and called his role a "small cameo." "I played a college professor," he continued, calling the scene "strangely comedic." Asked what the notorious Michael Bay is like to work with and Wilson playfully called him "a sweetheart." "If you see him just go up to him and give him a big hug. He's a BIG hugger."
All that plus Rainn revealed the true title of the film! Well, sort of. Watch below.
We already brought you reports for "The Foot Fist Way" and "You Don't Mess With The Zohan," and now we continue with "The Rocker" for MTV's Sneak Peek Week, where we're screening upcoming summer films, followed by a Q&A with the film's stars.
This time out, it was "Office" star Rainn Wilson, "House Bunny" hottie Emma Stone and platinum-selling music artist Teddy Geiger in attendance. Watch the highlights below, and then click here to read our full "Rocker" Q&A coverage. And be sure to check back soon as we roll out "Kung Fu Panda," "Get Smart" and "Pineapple Express."
The MTV Movie Awards will air live on MTV on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, with MTV News' "Coming Attractions" preshow kicking the evening off at 7:30 p.m. ET! Meanwhile, stay tuned to the MTV Movies Blog and MovieAwards.MTV.com.
Say what you will about the implausibility of Michael Bay movies, there's nothing funny about giant robots chasing innocent people around a college campus.
Ok, one thing. Or, rather, one person.
That would be Rainn Wilson, who will have a small role in "Transformers 2," as some kind of professor, "The Office" star revealed exclusively to MTV News during an MTV Sneak Peek Week screening of his new film "The Rocker."
"A professor that turns into a car that turns into a robot," he laughed. Read more...

Christina Applegate's die-hard fans know her as a dancer, singer, TV and movie actress, and acclaimed Broadway star. So, with a movie called "The Rocker" due in theaters this fall, they've been pummeling her with one question: Does she get to sing?
The flick is about a drummer, played by Rainn Wilson ("The Office"), who gets a chance at fame after many years and failed attempts banging the skins for musicians who went on to bigger things. As Robert “Fish” Fishman, Wilson becomes the drummer for his nephew’s high school band, A.D.D., and finally gets the chance to take on the life of a rock star. Read more...
Over the past 45 years, the legend of Pete Best has grown to the point where his name is shorthand for those who couldn't capitalize on a great opportunity. But when it came to the upcoming movie "The Rocker," the former Beatles drummer wasn't about to let it happen again.
"It's a variation on the Pete Best story, and he actually came to set one day and did a line in the movie," gushed Emma Stone, the "Superbad" actress who appears in the flick alongside Rainn Wilson and Christina Applegate. "I freaked out about it, because I'm a Beatles fanatic. I was very excited."
Now, fans of the Fab Four will be similarly thrilled when the so-called "Fifth Beatle" -- who was fired by John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison roughly a year before the group exploded -- shows up in "The Rocker" to get the last laugh. Read more...
