Wesley Snipes has presumably had rough days before. Say, the day he saw the reviews for "Blade: Trinity" for one. But today's got to take the cake with the actor being sentenced to three years in prison for not filing tax returns (insert your favorite "Money Train" joke here). Anyway, we like Mr. Snipes; he can be a fine actor when matched up with the right material, but unfortunately it looks like work will have to wait a little while. So in the interest of helping Wesley look on the bright side of life, here now are ten films we'd suggest he check out before he starts paying his debt to society in the big house.
1) "The Rock"
Lesson: If Ed Harris approaches you whilst in the slammer DO NOT engage him. He's angry. In fact, come to think of it...do not approach Ed Harris anywhere in any setting. He's always angry. Read more...
- The more you know: Brendan Fraser and The Rock reportedly offered cameo roles in "G.I. Joe" as Gung Ho and Shipwreck, respectively. (Latino Review)
- Guillermo del Toro premiers the full trailer for "Hellboy II: The Golden Army." (Yahoo)
- Speaking of del Toro, the Mexican auteur briefly speaks "The Hobbit." (EW)
- Johnny 5 still alive! "Short Circuit" remake apparently in the works with original writers scripting. (Variety)
- Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench join Rob Marshall's "Nine." (Hollywood Reporter)

Keeping up his smack-down of family friendly films, ex-wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is excited these days about his next Disney flick, based on a classic children's tale that came years before "The Game Plan." And this time, he's joining forces with "Bridge to Terabithia" cutie AnnaSophia Robb.
As the more old-school among us may recall, "Witch Mountain" (formerly "Escape To...") is the tale of an orphan brother and sister with telekinetic powers (now played by Alexander Ludwig and Robb, respectively), running from a scheming millionaire (Johnson) obsessed with the paranormal and aiming to exploit the supernatural siblings.
"He's a great guy – so I'm excited!" enthused the recently-turned-14-year-old, insisting that the thought of being chased by a wrestling champ like The Rock for the length of an entire film will be a joy. "I can't wait to get started." Read more...
Ok, so here's the deal: we can't explain it, but the presence of our reporters seems to cause celebrities to break out in spontaneous song. I know, crazy, right? Some chalk it up to the potent pheromones of staffers Larry Carroll and Shawn Adler, while others place the blame on the rockish vibes emitted by the history-laden MTV logo. Whatever the reason, watch below to see Ben Stiller, John Travolta, The Rock, John C. Reilly and more stars break into song during our interviews.

As appointed protectors of Earth by the wizard Shazam, Captain Marvel has the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, Black Adam the swiftness of Heru, the courage of Mehen.
But the greatest of power in "Shazam"’s arsenal doesn’t come from a wizard – this time, it came from YOU.
Charged last month with helping The Rock choose the role he would play in the upcoming "Shazam," MTV Movies Blog visiters overwhelming suggested Black Adam, the treacherous and corrupt former champion who fights Captain Marvel.
Now the Rock is back to tell MTV that he agrees (read the full story here).
After the jump, watch The Rock announce his decision and thank the fans for weighing in. Read more...
Steve Carell's "Get Smart" already ranks as one of 2008's highest-profile movies and now, ten months before release, die-hard fans are buzzing over a mystery that's fit for super-spy Maxwell Smart: Who's playing Hymie?
For those who haven't seen the classic Sixties comedy show, Hymie was a robot with superhuman powers, played with deadpan perfection by Richard Gautier. Despite being a cutting-edge aide to the CONTROL spy team, he lacked the mental processing chip that would allow him to comprehend everyday idioms. For instance, if someone told Hymie to go jump in the lake, they'd better go get him a life preserver and a towel.
"I didn't work with Hymie," shrugged Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson when we put him under the Cone of Silence and probed him for details. "None of my scenes were with Hymie - but I met Hymie; he's a cool dude and very, very funny in the movie." Read more...
She's visited the world's greatest chocolate factory and taken a trip to Terabithia, but AnnaSophia Robb is about to find herself between a Rock and a hard place, MTV News has learned, as the precocious 13-year-old joins Dwayne Johnson and director Andy Fickman as the female lead in "Witch Mountain," Disney's upcoming "remake" of the 1975 classic.
"Not remake," Fickman corrected. "We didn't want to come in and just simply do a remake of a movie that we all really liked growing-up. It's a new chapter within the world of Witch Mountain. I think that for people who have seen the original, they're going to be very happy with the direction were going. And with people who've never seen it, I think it'll be an exciting ride for them [as well]."
According to Fickman, the biggest difference may be one of tone. "The original book is a very cool dark thriller. We're pulling elements from that," he revealed. "It's a much darker movie than in the 70s when they did 'Escape to Witch Mountain.'" Read more...

Captain Marvel may be charged with protecting mankind, but that's nothing compared to being charged with finding the right actor to fill his heroic tights.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson told MTV News he was in discussions to play both Captain Marvel AND the villainous Black Adam in the upcoming superhero flick "Shazam," and he's calling on fans of the character to chime in with their picks.
"It's up to the fans," he told me repeatedly when I interviewed him this past Saturday.
So we're opening up the floor to you. Do you think he's right for either role, and if so, which one? It's all yours to decide. But, remember, to borrow a turn of phrase from another superhero, "With great power comes great responsibility."
Sound off on your choices below.

A tense standoff between two top agents, one with a gun to the other's head.
"Freeze," the first one says.
"No, you freeze," the other replies. "Freeeeeeeeze."
Not a single person at the Warner Brothers panel seemed to move - except with laughter - when footage was unveiled from "Get Smart" this morning. But audiences got out of their seats to cheer when director Peter Segal brought out stars Ken Davitian, The Rock, Masi Oka, and Steve Carell for surprise appearances.

Think Steve Carell's upcoming adaptation of their classic 60's sitcom has series co-creators and legendary funnymen Mel Brooks and Buck Henry up in arms? "Get Smart."
"We're really lucky because it's been given their seal of approval. They are completely on board," Carell told MTV News, as giddy as a schoolboy when he said the two had even sent in jokes that made their way into the film. "[They've] been in contact with Pete Segal, the director, and they've been going back and forth, doing pitches, and jokes, and sending things all the way along."
So enthusiastic was Mel Brooks, that filmmakers even set aside a small role for the 80-year-old, Carell said. "We asked him, but he's too busy -- he's actually casting 'Young Frankenstein' which he's doing on Broadway right now -- but we had a cameo all set for him. He just couldn't scheduling-wise make it up," Carell declared. "[But] we're up shooting in Montreal right now, so he may be coming to visit us."
But even if Mel isn't able to star, there will be plenty of surprises from recognizable faces, Carell promised. "We do have some cameos involving some people from the original," he said. One long-rumored cameo, that Will Ferrell is going to play the President of the United States, is not true, Carell insisted, telling MTV News that "James Caan plays the [role]." Read more...
