Tippi Hedren in 'The Birds'She's twice been paired with Alfred Hitchcock, but nothing's scarier to actress Tippi Hedren than the thought of Hollywood remaking their first collaboration, the classic horror film "The Birds."

"A couple of years ago, when they were first thinking about it, they called and asked what I thought about a remake of 'The Birds,'" she said, her voice rising. "And I thought 'Why would you do that? Why?' I mean, can't we find new stories, new things to do?"

The long in-development remake is set to star Naomi Watts in the Hedren role of a girl whose drive up the California coast is interrupted by vicious bird attacks. Watts was talking up the project as recently as last month, assuring fans that it's "happening" and they're "making sure it's right."

Don't bother even trying, Hedren declared. It doesn't matter how much time they spend "making it right," since making it at all is a recipe for failure. (Watch Hedren argue against a remake after the jump.) Read more...
