Emily Blunt’s performance as the future queen of England in "The Young Victoria" doesn’t even hit theaters until this Friday and she’s already earned a Golden Globe nomination! Sure, we all know her from “The Devil Wears Prada,” but much like the British ruler who reigned from 1837 to 1901, Blunt seems to be quite the over-achiever.

In the above exclusive clip from the movie, her Victoria can be seen proposing marriage to Albert (Rupert Friend), an extremely rare move at the time, and one that was totally in-character for the Queen who ascended to the throne at age eighteen and immediately began re-writing the rules. The results of our Box Office Poll are a forgone conclusion this week, but let's do one anyway, if only for laughs. James Cameron's sci-fi epic "Avatar" is going to crush it, no question. Box office dominance for Cameron's long-in-development film -- and his long-awaited return to directing, the first feature-length effort since "Titanic," in 1997 -- is as certain as it was for "New Moon" during its opening week.

People want to see this movie. Even if "Avatar" is an unholy mess, it's going to sell tickets. Fortunately for Cameron and his partners at 20th Century Fox, the movie is not an unholy mess. Every British movie star is required by law to take part in a period piece or costume drama at some point in her career. That's a fact – look it up, gentle readers. Emily Blunt understands this cinematic truth well. "You have to don the bonnet at some point, otherwise you're simply not a British actress," she declared to MTV News.

Luckily for us all, her entry in the genre is not some stuffy borefest – all corsets and nose-in-the-air snootiness – but an unsentimental exploration of a young woman's coming-of-age. The woman in question, it just so happens, is Victoria, the future Queen of England.
