Rats, spiders, sharks? Bring ‘em on. In the grand scheme of things, I don’t possess a lot of fears, phobias or terrors. But there is one thing I am deathly afraid of, something that has literally kept me up at night: The new “Three Stooges” movie.

As I’ve written before, I’m a lifelong Stoogemaniac who can’t help but feel that the Farrelly Brothers’ planned reboot is a bad, bad idea. So, when I caught up with Benicio Del Toro over the weekend at the press junket for this week's "The Wolfman," I just had to hear it from his own mouth: They’re seriously going to make this thing?

“Well, we’re not there yet,” explained the “Traffic” Oscar-winner, who is planning to play Moe Howard. “But the idea is still alive.” Read more...

Not too long ago, we interviewed Peter Jackson and he broke the news that he was planning to bring back only three key “Lord of the Rings” actors for his upcoming “Hobbit” films: the stars who played Gandalf, Galadriel and Elrond. Over the weekend, we caught up with the veteran actor who portrays one of the beloved Tolkien three, and he told us how he’ll fit into the high-profile films.

“Elrond is in ‘The Hobbit,’ in the book,” explained Hugo Weaving, the “Matrix” breakout actor who portrayed the Lord of Rivendell and ancient, wise elf in Jackson’s three “LotR” films. “And yeah, I would love to work on that, with Guillermo del Toro directing.” Read more...

Here's a short but sweet slice of "The Wolfman," as seen today during the Super Bowl. Universal's highly anticipated creature feature revival hits theaters this week, and we're buzzing in the MTV Newsroom. All reports are that it is a terrifying, gory ride. Show of virtual hands: who's checking it out on Friday?

There's some big event on TV this Sunday. A ton of shiny, new movie trailers are going to premiere! I think there's a football game going on too, but who cares about that?

As is the case every year, this year's Super Bowl will bring the usual helping of commercials and trailers that probably cost more to secure airtime for than they did to produce. And while most of the commercials aren't really going to drive you movies fans into a frenzy, some of the trailer premieres certainly will. You'll get glimpses of some of the biggest movies this year. I've tried to compile a complete list for you based on reports floating around the Internet, though I wouldn't be surprised if a few others sneak in there as well. We have no idea if this list is 100% accurate; hopefully it's wrong and there are more. One thing is certain though: we'll know on Sunday. Read more...

In a few weeks, on February 12, Joe Johnston's long-awaited revival of classic creature feature "The Wolfman" finally hits theaters. The trailers have shown some pretty raw imagery-- enough for us to know that this is not a movie for kids. It's apparently not for star Emily Blunt either, as she told MTV's Josh Horowitz on the red carpet at last week's Critics' Choice Awards.

"It's very scary," she said. "I almost threw up a few times when i was watching it." Sounds like fun, right? Josh, hearing this, had a sudden epiphany. "That should be on the poster," he exclaimed. Read more...

The latest trailer for "The Wolfman" hit last week. Personally, I'm much more excited for the Benicio del Toro-starring remake of the 1941 creature feature now. Where the previous trailer fell short in delivering man-dog action, this one brings the bared teeth and then some. And since there's nothing funnier than a man turning into a flesh-eating dog (seriously... nothing funnier), the trailer was practically screaming -- or perhaps HOWLING -- for a Freeze Frame treatment.

I'm pretty darn excited to see "The Wolfman." The numerous delays don't necessarily bode well, nor does the February release window, but reports from the few screenings have been mostly positive. Plus, is there anyone better for the role of the titular werewolf than Benicio del Toro? So yes... my hopes remain high.

And hey, just because we're waiting for February, it doesn't mean there's nothing to gawk at. Try these 20+ new images on for size. Just click on the sample below to be whisked off to the newly updated flipbook.

Maybe that headline is a bit much, but any look at the Benicio Del Toro-starring movie monster revival of "The Wolfman," directed by Joe Johnston, is enough to send me into a rabid frenzy. And the latest trailer brings the goods. It's filled with all sorts of wolf-y goodness. I'm loving the evil vibe I get from these scenes; it actually feels like a real horror movie, not some overly stylized blockbuster a la "Sleepy Hollow." Then again, I suppose that's what happens when you set "Se7en" writer Andrew Kevin Walker loose on your script.
