"The Hunger Games" teaser at the VMAs was more than just a passing glimpse at the upcoming film: it was a taste of things to come. Director Gary Ross caught up with Hollywood Crush over Skype and said that the movie, like the book, is going to be very much from the perspective of its main character, Katniss Everdeen.

"That's one of the fun things about it. There are times when you're viscerally inside [Jennifer Lawrence's] shoes, and that's the main experience," he said. "And there are other times when you're witnessing her the way they're witnessing her in the Game—and she's constantly being watched, which is one of the things that makes the book so compelling. But it's mainly an intense first-person experience, inside Katniss' shoes."

Vin DieselTalk about Judgment Day — while Arnold Schwarzenegger puts his movie career on hold, Vin Diesel gets ready to launch a "Terminator"-like franchise of his own.

THR
reports that Diesel is producing and starring in "The Machine," a new movie that centers on "a human-like machine created in secrecy by the Pentagon as the world's first true ultimate weapon." Twenty years after it's decommissioned and buried away, the machine is discovered by a child and the two become friends. Sounds kind of like "Terminator" meets "Iron Giant," doesn't it?

After the jump, check out the latest "Hunger Games" casting news and find out who's playing "The Transporter" in the new TV series!

Liam Neeson in TakenIf you're a fan of Liam Neeson: Badass, then this is a big ol' exciting "Taken" post is just for you! During a charity event in Belfast, Neeson confirmed that his butt-kicking alter-ego Bryan Mills will be back at it again, saving the lives of virgin daughters worldwide. In other words, he said, "Yes, there'll be a 'Taken 2,' before these limbs give up on me."

That confirmation comes coupled with the news from Deadline that EuropaCorp, writer Luc Besson's movie factory, is working on a "Taken" TV series that will hit the small screen as a follow-up to "Taken 2." Apparently the film is set to start filming in the spring once a director is chosen (I guess Pierre Morel wasn't down for another go-around?). There's no word yet on what the plot of the TV series would be, but I think we can safely assume that Neeson won't be starring in it. Read more...

-- Jason Statham isn't coming to the small screen, but "The Transporter" is. Luc Besson's EuropaCorp is teaming up with Atlantique Prods. for twelve one-hour episodes of a "Transporter" television series. Production is expected to begin in early 2011. [Variety]

-- "The A-Team" director Joe Carnahan isn't closed off to a Mr. T cameo, though he suggested that such a role might be better left for a sequel. "He'd be a great villain, totally unexpected," Carnahan teased. "Wouldn't that be perfect?" [Empire] Read more...

Last year on the Movies Blog, we wondered, "Who would win a fight between the three best action characters of our age: Jason Bourne, James Bond, or Bruce Wayne?" and to show how serious we here at MTV News are about getting to the bottom of deep mysteries, we brought the question straight to Matt Damon himself.
