As if acquiring Marvel Entertainment wasn't news enough, Disney is making headlines once again -- this time, the company is targeting Seth Rogen.
No, Mickey Mouse and his pals aren't trying to break the "Superbad" comedian's knees or anything, but they are looking to outrace his upcoming action film, "The Green Hornet," with their very own movie, "Tron Legacy." It's been announced that the Disney-produced picture is set to open on December 17, 2010, the exact same date that the Rogen-starring "Hornet" is set to launch. Read more...
If you’ve seen the hilarious trailer for “Jay and Seth Versus The Apocalypse,” you know that much of the humor in the semi-fake flick comes from the fact that the two roommates are stuck as “two guys” in “one room” after the end of the world as we know it. Now, as the duo have set out to make the movie for real, Jay Baruchel has been telling people, "I just can't believe people think the world wants to see the two of us sitting in an apartment during the apocalypse," and that the film will shoot in 2010. According to his future roomie, however, he’s wrong on both counts.
“I’ll be honest,” Seth Rogen said with a laugh when we asked him about the feature film version of “Jay and Seth versus the Apocalypse” recently. “We have not written one word of that movie.” Read more...
FROM SPLASH PAGE: These days, Seth Rogen and best bud Evan Goldberg are hard at work getting ready to shoot their high-profile flick “The Green Hornet.” But according to the “Funny People” star, the hardest part about adapting “Hornet” for the big-screen hasn’t been concerns over how to pay homage to the source material, or even how to make Rogen into an action star - it’s been making sure they don’t repeat their old material.
“It’s hard not to steal your own jokes,” laughed Rogen when we caught up with him recently, remembering the process of writing “Hornet” with Godlberg, his longtime collaborator who also co-wrote/produced the hit comedies “Pineapple Express” and “Superbad.” “It’s hard; like, you really forget which ideas you’ve used and which ones you haven’t.”

The movies team working on location at San Diego Comic-Con this year did a kickass job. They flat-out crushed it. In addition to all of the coverage we've been rolling out since last Wednesday, there are literally boxes of tape just waiting to be digitized and served direct to your waiting eyeballs.
Since the onslaught has really only just begun (seriously, you have no idea), I figure now might be a good time to remind you of a few delectable video nuggets that you may have missed. I hadn't even seen some of these until yesterday. SDCC is a big show and the amount of coverage we have from it is almost overwhelming. So peep these vids before the next giant load rolls through. FROM SPLASH PAGE: Seth Rogen’s “The Green Hornet” has seen its share of setbacks, almost all involving Stephen Chow. Now, it appears that “Hornet” has hit yet another delay, and will be in need of a new Kato, the role Chow was set to play.
SpoilerTV has discovered an open casting call for the part of Kato. However, they are looking for a non-specific Asian, and no longer require any martial arts experience — a description that could shed some light on Rogen’s take on the classic character.
In the serials, Kato was a skilled fighter, driver, and mechanic, but not necessarily a master of any martial arts. But after Bruce Lee made the part his own, the tradition has been to have a Kato who was an expert in martial arts. It’s now an iconic part of the character, especially after Quentin Tarantino ran with the imagery with the Crazy 88s in “Kill Bill.”

All right, ya’ll: do yourselves a favor and click this link to watch post-Armageddon awesomeness. I’ll wait.
Okay, you back? Cool. If you hadn’t watched it before, that was "Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse," an Internet short scripted by Seth Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg (“Superbad”) and co-starring Jay Baruchel. The idea was to put the so-called trailer online and build interest for a feature film.
It worked. In January of last year, after competition among several production companies, Mandate Pictures secured the rights and started making plans to bring "Jay and Seth" to the big screen. Read more...
FROM SPLASH PAGE: Ever since Seth Rogen told us about the top-secret fight scene that director Michel Gondry shot with his own money as an audition for “The Green Hornet” movie, I’ve been dying to know what visual tricks the distinctive filmmaker has up his sleeve. Now, Gondry is finally talking about the groundbreaking technique he’ll be bringing to the film.
“It was not elaborate,” Gondry modestly began the MTV News interview. “I’m glad [Rogen is even] paying any attention to what I’m suggesting.”
