FROM MTV.COM: In "New Moon," a new character joins the "Twilight" family of nuzzly PG-13 creatures. It's the Invisible Man. Not far into the picture, the undead Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) fades out of the action for a bit, and is replaced by wolf boy Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Edward eventually returns, but he never really comes back. Last year's sensitive hunk, with his pasty face and glum, mopey demeanor, is no match for this year's actual hunk; and Jacob — vibrant, funny, and madly muscular — romps off with the picture.
It's a silly picture, of course: Given the series' source material — Stephenie Meyer's blathery teen novels — what else could it be? But thanks to Lautner and newly-recruited director Chris Weitz, "New Moon" is a notable improvement over "Twilight."

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Between the grocery aisle and the magazine aisle, in the past few months, we haven't been able to get away from "New Moon" mania. So we at Hollywood Crush have decided to compile a list of all the magazines the various stars of "The Twilight Saga" have graced in recent months for your viewing pleasure. After you take the walk down memory lane, take our poll so we can decide which magazine nailed your vision for the stars the best!
1. Robert, Kristen and Taylor on EW, November 2009
In this past week's issue of Entertainment Weekly, the magazine sat down and asked Kristen, Taylor and Rob the important questions (or the only questions that haven't been asked yet). They got some funny stuff about Edward Cullen's brief stint with long hair and Taylor's fight for Jacob Black, and also caught Kristen's relationship joke of, "We are. We aren't. I'm a lesbian" on a voice recorder.

FROM MTV.COM: If you've only seen the movie "Twilight" and plan to watch the sequel "New Moon" this weekend, you might get caught up in all the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob hype. If you haven't read Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novels, you might not know which monstrous young man ends up with Bella, and you might not know about some of the stranger elements of "Breaking Dawn."
Taylor Lautner, however, has read the books. And with a "Breaking Dawn" movie as inevitable as death, taxes and "CSI" spin-offs, he's a bit freaked out about what's to come. As Taylor told us recently, he'll have to work closely with the film's director to handle the delicate material.
(Spoilers from "Breaking Dawn" are ahead!)

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: With "New Moon" opening Friday and "Eclipse" due June 2010, it seems about time we cast our gaze forward to "Breaking Dawn." And no, it's not too early. Sure, the big screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's forth (and for now final) vampire romance has yet to be announced, but that didn't stop us from asking star Taylor Lautner about the "Twilight Saga"'s larger-than-life finale.
"I'm looking forward to the whole pack splitting up, that could be cool," the 19-year-old said, revealing which scene he is most excited to film for "Breaking Dawn." Taylor wasn't quite so sure, however, who should direct the last installment.

FROM MTV.COM: For as long as there have been wolf-men, monsters and the Incredible Hulk, one question has always plagued the creators of said creatures: What happens to their clothes when they transform?
When "New Moon" hits theaters this weekend, one thing you'll notice is a lot of shirtless young men. When Taylor Lautner, Chaske Spencer or other members of the wolf pack transform, you can clearly see shreds of pants flying everywhere. And at some point, they need to regain human form, right?

FROM MTV.COM: A year ago at this time, people were finally comprehending the scope of "Twilight" mania. Rob and Kristen were treated like rock stars, thousands of fans were eager to share their "little secret" with the world, and a tiny Taylor Lautner enthusiastically posed with fans, simply hoping they'd want him back for more.
On Monday evening (November 16), "New Moon" mania took over at the film's red-carpet premiere. And like Taylor's presence in the sequel, it's bigger, better and far more muscular.

FROM MTV.COM: By now every Twilighter knows the story well. Taylor Lautner almost lost the role of werewolf Jacob Black for "New Moon." But he hit the gym, packed on 30 pounds of muscle and secured the coveted part opposite Kristen Stewart. What we don't know as well is what went on behind the scenes when the casting decision was being deliberated at Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the vampire saga.
It turns out that at least one star was doing her best to make sure Lautner was not replaced. "I definitely fought for him," Kristen Stewart told MTV News on the red carpet at the "New Moon" premiere on Monday night. "I was totally on his side the entire time."

The United Kingdom is Robert Pattinson's stomping grounds. No big surprise that he turned out when the "New Moon" cast tour swung through London. He was joined there by fellow stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner as well. And a legion of shrieking fans, as you can see in the pic below.

FROM MTV.COM: In early 2008, then-little-known actors including Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner traveled to Portland to shoot a small vampire film that they hoped would get a theatrical release. Barely two years later, "Twilight" is one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood, with two Vancouver-filmed sequels rolling into theaters. Now, Pattinson is revealing plans to return to the city where it all began — and recommending the Portland-based Oscar nominee he wants to direct "Breaking Dawn."
"I probably shouldn't say this," Rob revealed to MTV News over the weekend, acknowledging that the wheels are slowly creeping into motion on "Breaking Dawn" getting made. "But I've heard that we're going to shoot it in Portland.

As I told you all earlier this week, MTV ace reporter and Twilighter-in-residence Larry Carroll will be speaking with the cast of "New Moon" (in theaters November 20) very, very soon. And while he has plenty of questions prepped and ready -- heck, there have been strategy meetings to that effect -- he also wants to give you fans a shot at having your own queries heard.
So... here's how it's going to roll. The interviews will consist of four solo sessions, with director Chris Weitz and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. There will also be three group interviews, with the members of the Cullen family, the Wolf Pack and the Volturi, respectively. That's seven interviews, four solo and three group. In the interests of keeping things fair (and manageable) please send along no more than one question per interview. We'll pare the list down (there's bound to be some overlap) and do our best to make your voices heard. To submit your questions, just e-mail us at tips@mtvmoviesblog.com before the end of the day today.
