FROM SPLASH PAGE: These days, Seth Rogen and best bud Evan Goldberg are hard at work getting ready to shoot their high-profile flick “The Green Hornet.” But according to the “Funny People” star, the hardest part about adapting “Hornet” for the big-screen hasn’t been concerns over how to pay homage to the source material, or even how to make Rogen into an action star - it’s been making sure they don’t repeat their old material.
“It’s hard not to steal your own jokes,” laughed Rogen when we caught up with him recently, remembering the process of writing “Hornet” with Godlberg, his longtime collaborator who also co-wrote/produced the hit comedies “Pineapple Express” and “Superbad.” “It’s hard; like, you really forget which ideas you’ve used and which ones you haven’t.”

Protests, marches, and link-passing have taken over Twitter following last week's contested election results in Iran, and the Twitter-Wood feed has been no exception. Alyssa Milano has been particularly persistent with her #iranelection-tagged tweets, and directors Errol Morris, James Gunn, and Jon Favreau all logged on to comment on the events in Tehran.
Meanwhile, a few tweets squeaked through with details from the "Iron Man 2" and "Casino Jack" sets, as well as from Wil Wheaton's guest appearance on the TNT series "Leverage." Also, Jonah Hill joins Kat Dennings and Nick Jasenovec in doubting the legitimacy of the controversial Michael Cera Twitter account that I've mentioned before. Click onward for all of these, birthday wishes to actor Michael Showalter, a much more in 140 characters or less in today's Twitter-Wood report! Read more...

Twitter-Wood chatter was so lively in the feed today, I just want to let it speak for itself. "Paper Heart" director Nick Jasenovec prodded "Superbad" nerd Christopher Mintz-Plasse about holding up the sequel while director Joe Lynch and Kat Dennings were tweeting away with some "Twilight" observations.
Along with a few more details from the periphery of the "Iron Man 2" set and Tyrese Gibson's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" release tour, there were plenty of peaks to be had if you were watching for updates. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood rundown for June 11, 2009. Read more...

It's the buzzword of 2008: Cross-pollination. And it's all the rage these days thanks to Marvel's ambitious slate, which already included Nick Fury showing up in "Iron Man" and Tony Stark showing up in "The Incredible Hulk." So if comics can get away with it, why not Judd Apatow?
We're actually not joking. Combining Apatow's comedies isn't just a good idea, it's an idea whose time very well may come soon, "Pineapple Express" star James Franco told MTV News.

It's the "funniest [book] I've ever read," said "Superbad" star (and newly minted three-time MTV Movie Award nominee) Michael Cera of "Youth in Revolt," a popular coming-of-age story he's starring in within the month.
It's also, at least in parts, borderline unfilmable, he laughed.
"I don't know if any of that will be in there!" he said of a risque scene between the hero (Nick Twisp) and his best friend. "There's a lot of stuff where you read in the book and you realize it's gonna be in the movie and you're like, uh, that might just be really awkward in the theaters!"
Mind you, this coming from a guy who wore those yellow running short shorts throughout "Juno." Could it get worse than that? Turns out it can, chuckled Cera. Read more...
You've been to Disney World, ridden all the rides at Six Flags. The staff at Universal City know you by name. So where's an intrepid, theme park enthusiast to go next? Why, to "Adventureland," of course, the new amusement destination featured in director Greg Mottola's "Superbad" follow-up.
Just make sure you bring a copy of your life insurance, joked co-star Kristen Wiig.
"A lot of times towns will have the really great amusement park," she smiled. "And then they'll have the kind of scary one where you really don't want to go on the rides because you're afraid you might be killed. Read more...
I'm not exactly sure what's happening in this exclusive behind the scenes clip featured on the new "Superbad" DVD but I can tell you it involves Jonah Hill and a big snake. If you need more than that to check out the clip below, well then you, my friend, are a lost cause. Enjoy!
Over the summer, a nation of filmgoers fell in love with the adventures of Seth, Evan and their wacky buddy McLovin. Now, "Superbad" star Emma Stone is putting the word on the street that she'd love to do a sequel...if only Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen and others would see her way of thinking.
"They wouldn't even have to pay me to be in a sequel," laughed the actress, who played love interest to Jonah Hill's character in the flick that grossed over $111 million. "I would pay them to make a sequel!"
"Ooh, like a romantic white horse 'Superbad' fantasy?" Stone pondered, offering up her idea for a romantic dream sequence with Hill. "Yeah, it could be done." Read more...
