It's Spy Games And Carnival Rides In This Week's DVD Report For Tuesday, August 25

It's the last week of summer, so how is Hollywood celebrating? By releasing a home video slate of some of the most under-appreciated films of the year. From bickering spies to reluctant amusement park workers, August 25th brings together indie darlings and big-budget gems, and we're breaking it all down in today's DVD Report.

Let's kick it off with one of my favorite films of the year, Tony Gilroy's "Duplicity." The director's sophomore follow-up to "Michael Clayton," the Julia Roberts-Clive Owen spy yarn brings together two of the brightest and most expressive voices working today for a crafty globe-trotting adventure. Filled with twists and turns and superb acting, "Duplicity" wasn't exactly a smash hit at the cineplex, but it's more than worth your time. Sadly, if there's one thing worth griping about here, it's the rather lackluster bonus features...or should we say bonus feature. Emily Blunt Talks 'Sunshine Cleaning' And Her 'Weird' Bond With Amy Adams

Emily BluntIt was on the set of a historical drama about the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan that Emily Blunt and Amy Adams struck up a friendship that would result in a dark-humored movie about two sisters who clean up after blood-soaked corpses for a living.

Welcome to the bizarre world of Hollywood, in which alliances are forged in the most peculiar of circumstances and give birth to projects that at first make you go, “Say what?” In the case of Blunt and Adams, their first encounter took place during the filming of “Charlie Wilson’s War”—Blunt played Tom Hanks’ lover, Adams his Congressional aide—and the outcome, several years later, is the oddball gem, “Sunshine Cleaning.”

“We have a weird inner dialogue that we sort of know what the other one’s thinking,” Blunt recently told MTV News. “It was like I’d known her forever. She still very much feels like my sister.” Read More...

EXCLUSIVE: Check Out Emily Blunt In The Dark Comedy 'Sunshine Cleaning'

"Sunshine Cleaning" came out of Sundance last year with a lot of buzz, and now the film is seeing limited release on March 13. The pic stars Emily Blunt and Amy Adams as sisters who -- in order to raise some cash -- start a business cleaning up crime scenes.

You can check out the "Sunshine Cleaning" trailer here, and watch our exclusive clip below. In the scene, Blunt relates a spooky story to her young son.

U2, Colin Farrell, And Tom Arnold(?!?) Hit Sundance

Colin FarrellWelcome to Sundance 2008, where your MTV News movie team is once again on the ground, and Colin Farrell is already on the red carpet professing his plans to party.

More about that later, but to whet your appetite for the days ahead, here are a few fast facts about the latest edition of Robert Redford's annual party:

- Saturday’s highly-anticipated premiere of “U2 3D” will be the first of the slick, new-school three-dimensional films (think 'Beowulf') to ever screen at Sundance. A special projector had to be installed in the Eccles Theater, but with names like Cameron, Zemeckis and Lucas developing films for the medium, the timing is right.

- The darlings of Sundance this year? 23-year-old Melonie Diaz has no fewer than four films in Park City. More shockingly, Tom Arnold is engineering a comeback with three of his own. Read More...
