This is definitely one of the more eyebrow-raising remake ideas to come out of Hollywood. Variety is reporting that Steven Spielberg and Will Smith are in talks to film a remake of Chan-Wook Park's violent "Oldboy."
If you haven't seen Park's "Oldboy," be prepared for a film that is nothing like Spielberg or Smith have ever made before. It follows a man named Dae-Su, who is locked in a hotel room for 15 years without having a good reason why. Once released, he goes on a path of vengance, tracing the identity of his captors through a strange maze of conspiracy. It's bloody, it's brutal, and yet packs quite an emotional punch. Read more...
