In 1999’s “American Beauty,” Kevin Spacey played a depressed suburban dad who experiences a transcendental reawakening. So he starts smoking a particularly potent strain of government-engineered marijuana.
Today a new Spacey flick, “Shrink,” hits theaters, and in this one he portrays a pot-smoking depressive and Hollywood therapist who is so hopelessly addicted he tokes up in the shower and in the bathroom of a pediatric waiting room. Unlike its effect on his blissed-out “Beauty” brother, blazing is nothing but cheerless trouble for the shrink in “Shrink.”

Wow is this a busy week. After the runaway success of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" last week -- and other shoe-in blockbusters in the weeks before it -- it's nice to see a little bit of variety for Friday's releases. "G-Force," with showings in two and three dimensions both, is an easy weekend win for families, provided they're not making a repeat (or first-time) trip to Hogwarts.
The CG animated adventure about a secret agent force of talking guinea pigs is a big-ticket item for a number of reasons. It is Disney's first (non-concert) live-action release shot in Digital 3-D. It is also produced by blockbuster-meister Jerry Bruckheimer in his 3-D debut. Ashley Greene Eager To 'Shrink' Sundance With Kevin Spacey

As we turn the calendar page, MTV is spending this entire week looking forward to the most promising films of 2009. Keep checking back for lists of our most anticipated blockbusters, comedies and so forth – but today we kick off the festivities with a very special list: The 10 Most Eagerly Anticipated 2009 Films From the “Twilight” Stars.
One of the entrants is “Shrink,” an under-the-radar indie that began building buzz recently when it was chosen for this month’s Sundance Film Festival. Within hours, Twilighters began wondering about this dramedy that stars not only Kevin Spacey and Keke Palmer, but their very own Ashley Greene.
