Seth RogenIf you were still holding out hope that Seth Rogen would be a part of Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up" spinoff, it's time to give it up.

"I'm not in it," he tells Movies.com, saying that his involvement would be a bit jarring for the audience. "It was a good choice, honestly, because I think it would've confused people … But I'm really looking forward to seeing it; I thought the script was unbelievably funny."

He adds that the long-developing survival horror comedy "Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse" will start shooting this February.

Matt DamonLots of good news for Neil Blomkamp on the "Elysium" front. First and foremost, Sony Pictures has snapped up the rights to the "District 9" director's upcoming sci-fi flick, which is set to star Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley and Jodie Foster.

Deadline has been following the development, and was able to confirm that Sony will be distributing the film on its own, without the rumored involvement of Universal Pictures. Not a huge surprise, since the company was also responsible for distributing "District 9," Blomkamp's only other feature. Read More...

Jodie FosterMore good news for Neill Blomkamp's second feature, "Elysium." The film already has Matt Damon and "District 9" star Sharlto Copley attached to star, and now, according to Deadline, Jodie Foster has committed to the sci-fi flick as well.

Details are scarce on the "Elysium" plot, but we do know that the film takes place on a distant planet in the distant future (we're sensing that distance is a theme here). That's a bit of a step away from Blomkamp's hit "District 9," which took place on our planet in the near future, and showed a pretty accurate portrayal (in my opinion) of what could happen if aliens came to Earth. Despite a distinct lack of awards-season love thus far, we're sticking to our guns and proclaiming Matt Damon's turn as ornery Texas Ranger LaBoeuf (pronounced LaBeef, but bearing no relation to Shia) in the Coen Bros.' badass Western "True Grit" (in theaters December 22) one of the year's finest and most entertaining performances.

With a role like that in his holster, it's no wonder that the erstwhile Jason Bourne is in as much demand as ever these days. He's already wrapped the thriller "The Adjustment Bureau" and the animated sequel "Happy Feet 2," and has a gaggle of projects -- including Steven Soderbergh's "Contagion" and Cameron Crowe's "We Bought a Zoo" -- already in the hopper. But the most recent film Damon has been linked to is perhaps the most exciting: "Elysium," a top-secret sci-fi flick that reunites "District 9" director Neill Blomkamp with star Sharlto Copley. When MTV News caught up with Damon at the "True Grit" junket, we asked him whether he would indeed make his first foray into sci-fi with "Elysium."

"I'm hopeful. I really, really, really want to do it and I want to work with Neill. I think he's a genius," Damon gushed. "I loved 'District 9.' It was one of my favorite films last year. I thought the performances were incredible. So I'm hoping that it happens." Read More...

The A-Team on DVDWhen writer-director Joe Carnahan's adaptation of the beloved '80s TV show "The A-Team" hit theaters this summer, it seemed poised for blockbuster awesomeness. It had a built-in fanbase, a talented director and a spot-on cast -- Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper (pictured) as Faceman, UFC fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as B.A. and "District 9" star Sharlto Copley as "Howling Mad" Murdock. But for some reason it failed to find a blockbuster-sized auidence.

When Carnahan called up MTV to chat about the movie's release on DVD and Blu-ray (it hit stores December 14), he talked about why he thinks it didn't connect with audiences in theaters, dished on the Blu-ray's extended director's cut and revealed his thoughts on an "A-Team" sequel. He also spilled the beans on his "'Jaws'-like' next film "The Grey," which stars Liam Neeson as the leader of a group of oil drillers being hunted by wolves in the Arctic. Sounds chilling. Sharlto CopleySharlto Copley wasn't an actor when his pal Neill Blomkamp asked him to do a read-through of the script for the sci-fi thriller "District 9." Blomkamp liked Copley's performance so much that he asked him to play the lead in the film, tt went on to be a hit, and Copley immediately shot to stardom.

Copley followed up that film with something notably lighter, a turn as loopy ex-military man "Howling Mad" Murdock in Joe Carnahan's "A-Team" movie. If it seems like he was born to play the role, that makes sense: As Copley told MTV News in an interview to promote the movie's December 14 DVD release, he grew up watching "The A-Team" and even felt a special connection to Murdock. We're not sure what that says about Copley, but he certainly was a lovely fellow to chat with. The South African dished on everything from what he'd like to see happen in an "A-Team" sequel to hilarious DVD extras to the time he tried to mock-seduce co-star Jessica Biel with a mid-take rendition of Justin Timberlake's (a.k.a Biel's boyfriend) "SexyBack." We love it when a mid-shoot seduction comes together.

Matt DamonOne of the aspects of Neill Blomkamp's big screen debut "District 9" that made it such a surprising success was the fact that it starred no marquee actors. It was the first major film role for its leading man, Sharlto Copley, with whom Blomkamp had been close friends for years. Copley's since gone on to do bigger and badder things like "The A-Team," but we all breathed a happy little sigh when we found out earlier this week that he and Blomkamp would be reteaming for another sci-fi film, "Elysium."

Turns out we weren't the only ones who got excited. Deadline has the news that Matt Damon is in talks to join forces with Copley and Blomkamp for the film. The closest Damon has come to futuristic sci-fi flick in his career was when he voiced Cale Tucker in the animated film "Titan A.E." back in 2000, so it's pretty exciting news that he'll be delving into the genre with as promising a director as Blomkamp. Sharlto CopleyIt's time for another round of Good News, Bad News, folks, and we'll start off with the bad news.

Unfortunately, it looks like Neill Blomkamp and Sharlto Copley aren't reteaming for a "District 9" sequel as their next project. But don't get yourselves in a huff just yet, because even if "District 10" isn't in the immediate pipeline, Blomkamp and Copley are getting back together very soon nonetheless.

Deadline reports that the "District 9" director and star are reuniting for yet another science fiction movie in the form of "Elysium," a mysterious project that Blomkamp's name has been attached to for some months now. Copley's involvement is a new development, however, though it's still unknown exactly how he'll factor into the film. Read More...

Gemma ArtertonCasting is coming together for "Men In Black 3," and the names of those newly announced should get you plenty pumped for the upcoming threequel. The film will take place in both the present day and in 1969, and follow the MIB employees -- Will Smith's Agent J and Tommy Lee Jones's Agent K -- that we have come to know and love, as well as some newcomers.

According to Pajiba, Alec Baldwin is in negotiations to come aboard as the '69 Men In Black boss, while erstwhile Bond girl Gemma Arterton would play a secretary during that same period. "District 9" and "A-Team" star Sharlto Copley, meanwhile, is in negotiations to play what Pajiba describes as a "fast-talking Yoda type alien." Read More...

Sharlto Copley came out of nowhere last year, a newcomer actor who impressed the hell out of everyone with his performance in Neill Blomkamp's exceptional sci-fi flick, "District 9." It was quite a turnaround too, for him to jump from that to this weekend's big release, "The A-Team"-- he would have to have pretty much gone straight from promoting "District 9" to shooting "A-Team." And as it turns out, he did! Strangest of all, however, was the audition process: stuck on the road promoting his debut effort, Copley had to make do with what was around him and send in a tape.

"It was pretty surreal. It all happened pretty fast," he said. "I was promoting district 9 when ['A-Team' casting started]. I actually shot a series of scenes in my hotel room that I called 'Things That Could Happen to Murdock in a Hotel Room.' I sent those to [director] Joe Carnahan and that's how I got the role." Sounds hilarious. What was on that tape? Read More...
