Worst Movies of 2010

Every year has its share of great movies (check out our top 10 films of the year here and vote for your fave here) and not-so-great movies... and 2010 was no exception. There were the sure-fire winners that totally failed with critics, like "The Tourist" and the reboot of "A Nightmare on Elm Street," and there were the films that never had a chance, like "Case 39" and "Furry Vengeance"... as well as, apparently, anything with Katherine Heigl and/or Josh Duhamel.

It's kind of mean to kick these flicks while they're down, so we decided to go to an outside source for some hard data. In other words, we checked out RottenTomatoes to see which flicks were the 25 lowest rated of 2010. Then we made a convenient little poll out of the 25 films to see which one you decide is the worst. Hit the jump to vote in the poll, and let us know in the comments or on Twitter which films you thought were the bottom of the barrel in 2010 (and feel free to yell at me if you disagree)!

Shrek Forever After1. "Shrek Forever After" ($25.3 million)
2. "Get Him to the Greek" ($17.4 million)
3. "Killers" ($16.1 million)
4. "Prince of Persia" ($13.9 million)
5. "Sex and the City 2" ($12.7 million)

Even with four new major releases in theaters this weekend — including films starring notable names such as Russell Brand, Ashton Kutcher and Owen Wilson — "Shrek Forever After" continued its winning streak with a $25.3 million first place finish by Sunday's conclusion, thanks to a combination of increased theater count and higher prices for 3-D ticket sales. Get Him to the Greek1. "Shrek Forever After" ($6.5 million)
2. "Get Him to the Greek" ($6.2 million)
3. "Killers" ($5.7 million)
4. "Sex and the City 2" ($4.4 million)
5. "Prince of Persia" ($4.1 million)

With four new major releases in theaters this weekend, it's surprising that none of these films managed a first place finish on opening day. Equally surprising is the fact that two of these films finished outside of the top five. But sure enough, "Shrek Forever After" continues to light up the box office with yet another first place finish, kicking off what's likely to be its third straight weekend victory. Read More...

Prince of Persia1. "Shrek Forever After" ($55.7 million)
2. "Prince of Persia" ($37.8 million)
3. "Sex and the City 2" ($37.1 million)
4. "Iron Man 2" ($20.6 million)
5. "Robin Hood" ($13.6 million)

Carrie Bradshaw got off to a solid start at the weekend box office with a $13 million first place finish on Friday, but her success ended there as a refueled "Shrek Forever After" tapped into its inner ogre to beat "Sex and the City 2" and "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" at the Memorial Day weekend box office. Sex and the City 21. "Sex and the City 2" ($13 million)
2. "Shrek Forever After" ($11.3 million)
3. "Prince of Persia" ($10.3 million)
4. "Iron Man 2" ($4 million)
5. "Robin Hood" ($2.8 million)

Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes have made their way back into theaters nationwide, bringing with them all of the box office bravado one would expect from the sex-hunting, city-dwelling quartet of "Sex and the City 2." The movie made its flashy debut with a $13 million Friday, hailing a taxi all the way to a first place finish. Read More...

This week's Friday releases bring with them an odd coincidence. While the ladies go see New York City's fashionable foursome trek through the desert in "Sex and the City 2," dudes get a sand and sandals epic of their own in "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." With two desert-centric movies like these hitting theaters, a Photoshop treatment was basically a necessity. Want to know what happens when Prince Dastan and Carrie Bradshaw cross paths under the blazing desert sun? Click the image below to see for yourself.

"Iron Man 2" opened last Friday, earning more than $130 million in box office sales over the weekend. Enough to land the movie in position #5 for all-time top-grossing opening weekends. It's a big movie and, by most accounts, a great sequel; few expected anything less. Now that it's out, as is always the case during the summer blockbuster season, it's time for us to start thinking about what might top it.

Summer blockbuster season is a tough time to maintain box office dominance. In the long history of film, only one summer release has a place in the top 10 consecutive #1 box office weekends: "Back to the Future," released 7/3/85, spent 8 weeks in a row at #1. "Ghostbusters," released 6/8/84, comes after that in the #11 spot with 7 weeks on top. Make no mistake: "Iron Man 2" will be usurped. The question is, when? Read More...

-- The girls are back in town — and by girls, I mean Carrie Bradshaw and the rest of the "Sex and the City" gang, as the sequel's first official trailer has gone online. Looks like John Corben's Aidan is back in action, so Mr. Big better watch his back! [MTV.com]

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: This has been a great year, but with the decade ending, 2010 looks to take everything great about 2009 up to the next level. We're talking more vampires, wizards galore, some chick flicks (that actually have a chance to be good!) and lots and lots of singing.

So, with the exit of 2009, say hello to 2010 by taking a look at the projects Hollywood Crush is most looking forward to talking about over the next 365 days!

10. "Glee" returns, or "Fox's Other Singing Show Comes Back"

Fox's knockout high school choir club comedy has become an instant television classic, and on April 13, it will return from its four month hiatus to air the final nine episodes of the first season. The show already had a fan following (Gleeks), had a Hot Topic tour and has been nominated for four Golden Globes including Best Comedy Series, Best Actor and Best Actress. Needless to say, seeing how the show wraps up its first season is definitely something to sing about.

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Finding out legit details about the sequel to "Sex and the City: The Movie" is a feat about as rare as a Manolo Blahnik sale. Sure, we know Miley Cyrus definitely has a cameo (ton of pictures of her were snapped near the set last week), that Samantha will have an encounter with a European architect (played by Max Ryan) and that Charlotte will not have another pooping disaster. But... what about the small-yet-important accessories (if you will) that go along with the film? Such as running time and wardrobe changes?

Enter Kristin Davis (a.k.a. Charlotte, pictured far right), who stopped by MTV News recently to talk about "Couples Retreat," her motherly love for Taylor Lautner and, of course, "Sex"! Reporter Josh Horowitz (as always!) begged the actress for as much juice as he could squeeze out of her, and while she remained as mum as Charlotte does about her sex life, there were a few key nuggets she let slip.
