Lars von TierLars von Trier has caused quite the stir over controversial comments he made at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. He's been condemned by Cannes officials and now he's getting similar abuse from film industry peers on Twitter, with a heaping amount of tongue-in-cheek jabs coming from Eli Roth.

In more pleasant news, the world got its first look at Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games" yesterday, and one of her co-stars — Elizabeth Banks, who plays Effie Trinket — was especially blown away by Lawrence's new look.

I'm @roundhoward and there's all that and more in today's Twitter-Wood for May 19, 2011.

ThorThe summer blockbuster season is rapidly approaching and the tweets are alive with excitement. Arguably, the first big film opens May 6th and comes in the form of a hammer-wielding warrior named "Thor." Leave it to Seth MacFarlane to point out the most exciting thing about the Norse God.

For us, summer blockbuster season usually means obnoxiously-excited-for-new-Pixar-movies season. We're counting down the days until "Cars 2," but one "Finding Nemo" star is upset that a sequel is not in her future.

Meanwhile, "Rio" slayed "Scream 4" at the box office this weekend and star Tracy Morgan finally gets his promotional groove on. And another comedian is celebrating Passover this year, albeit under a new name.

Scream 4With the premiere of "Scream 4" only two days away, fans are already snatching up tickets. Moviegoers are buzzing about the horror film's place in the franchise. Will it live up to the "Scream" legacy? Lucky for us, a few celebrities got a sneak peek and they're tweeting all about it.

Meanwhile, love is in the tweets for "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlene, who was propositioned online by a household name. He plays it cool and responds with the only surefire way to win a girl’s heart: A Star Trek reference.

Black SwanIt was appropriate that for the last Twitter-Wood update of 2010, the feed included plenty of examples of what made the year great. "Black Swan" reactions continued to appear, while Michael Ian Black and Brody Stevens wished horrible fates upon people for the new year and Seth MacFarlane proposed a New Year's resolution for anyone who hasn't picked one yet.

Ice-T sounded off with his feelings about the police, as he apparently got pulled over this week. His rant, as well as Jeremy Piven's fear of saunas and Anna Kendrick's love for the show "Misfits" can be found down below.

Family Guy: It's a Trap!Tossing zingers at "Star Wars" is old hat for "Family Guy" and its creator Seth MacFarlane. The edgy Fox series has already poked fun at the first two installments in George Lucas' original sci-fi trilogy with "A New Hope" and "Empire Strikes Back" parodies titled "Blue Harvest" (a reference to the original working title of the first "Star Wars" film) and "Something, Something, Something, Darkside" (a reference to, well, nothing), respectively.

Both spoofs have been gargantuan hits, both on TV and DVD -- so it doesn't take a Jedi with an off-the-charts metachlorian count to see why MacFarlane and co. have decided to round out their very own trilogy with the "Return of the Jedi" parody "It's a Trap!" (which, by the by, derives its named from the famous line uttered by General Ackbar in the film).

The one-hour long movie hits DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, December 21, but you don't have to wait until tomorrow for your first look at "It's a Trap!" MTV has exclusively nabbed nine minutes of footage from the flick, including the opening four-plus minutes. Check out the clips after the jump! Read More...

Mila KunisWhen "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane decided to make the jump to the big screen with a live-action comedy about a man with a teddy bear sidekick, we knew it would be be big. The film, called "Ted" (and, previously, "Teddy Bear") already has Mark Wahlberg attached to play the lead, a normal guy from Boston who just happens to have a stuffed best friend. And now MacFarlane is looking to round-up some supporting stars.

Chief among them is Mila Kunis, who has voiced Meg Griffin on "Family Guy" for 10 years now. Last night, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Kunis was in negotiations for a part in the film... but when MTV News rang her up for comment this morning, she told us that nothing is set in stone just yet. Miley CyrusJust in case you wanted a color pic to go with your shot of John Cusack in "The Raven" from earlier today, he tweeted a creepy accompaniment that you may wish to check out.

Elsewhere, Miley Cyrus is still grabbing attention with that bong video from last week, and Seth MacFarlane suggested how she might have avoided being identified. And speaking of uncomfortable moments, an alternate "Yogi Bear" ending that you're not likely to see in theaters has been making the tweet rounds and was passed along by Paul Scheer to his followers today. You'll understand what I'm talking about down below, where you'll also find Jessica Alba sharing a special moment with MTV News' own Joshua Horowitz.

Men In Black 3WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's arrest in London kicked up some tweet commentary in the feed today. Amid all of the critics and supporters, though, James Urbaniak thinks Assange would be a fine "Law and Order" character.

Wil Wheaton, meanwhile, attempted to leak the secrets of creating paper Darth Vader snowflakes on his account, and the pictures show that he came very close. Elsewhere, Tyrese Gibson didn't divulge anything new from the set of "Men in Black 3," but he did hang out with Will Smith and try on some shoes. You'll find his comments, along with Dax Shepard and a monkey, Bret Easton Ellis' praise for Susan Boyle and Seth MacFarlane on his relationship with the U.K. down below.

It's been a banner year on the big screen for Mark Wahlberg. He proved his comedic chops in both "Date Night" and "The Other Guys" and will finally see his long-gestating passion project "The Fighter" -- for which he and a gaggle of his co-stars are getting strong Oscar buzz -- hit theaters this Friday (December 10). When MTV News caught up with Wahlberg at the "Fighter" junket, the humble actor remarked of his 2010 hot streak: "It's been an amazing journey. If it ended today, I'd be happy."

Luckily, it doesn't look like that will be the case. Wahlberg already has a winner of a raunchy comedy lined up to kick off 2011: "I'm getting to go do a comedy and the beginning of this year with Seth MacFarlane -- his directorial debut," Wahlberg told MTV. "Dude, I'm so excited. It's just off-the-charts funny." The project in question is "Teddy Bear," with "Family Guy" creator MacFarlane writing, directing and providing the voice of the titular plush toy. Read More...
