Sarah Michelle GellarNot looking forward to that Joss Whedon-less "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot that's supposedly floating through Hollywood? Well, you're not alone.

Though she's remained very quiet on the subject so far, Sarah Michelle Gellar has finally opened up about her stance on the brand new "Buffy" movie that supposedly won't have anything to do with the beloved universe set forth by Whedon — a universe that still very much exists in the form of a Dark Horse comic book series, mind you.

"I think it's a horrible idea," she said bluntly in an interview with CNN (via Blastr). "To try to do a 'Buffy' without Joss Whedon, I mean that's, like, honestly, to be incredibly non-eloquent: that's the dumbest idea I've ever heard."

Joss WhedonYesterday we got the news that Warner Bros. is rebooting the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" franchise with a new film.... but without the involvement of creator Joss Whedon, and presumably without "Buffy" film star Kristy Swanson and TV series headliner Sarah Michelle Gellar. We asked in a poll who you guys thought should play the titular vampire waster in the reboot, and so far you've almost unanimously endorsed Gellar's return to the title role. But if Whedon's sarcastic response to the reboot is any indication, that is not going to be happening any time soon.

"I'm glad you asked for my thoughts on the announcement of Buffy the cinema film," Whedon wrote in an email to E! Online. "This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths — just because they can't think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself." Buffy the Vampire SlayerVampires are all the rage these days, what with the teen angst of the "Twilight Saga," the twenty-something angst of "The Vampire Diaries" and the soon-to-be historical angst of "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" heating up the big and small screens. Now, the gal who made that perfect combo of teen angst and vampire slaying cool in the first place is headed back to theaters. Warner Bros. announced today that a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot is officially in the works.

The original "Buffy" movie hit screens back in 1992, with Kristy Swanson playing the stake-wielding slayer. But it was in 1997, when "Buffy" screenwriter Joss Whedon spearheaded a TV series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar (pictured above) in the title role, that the sassy, ass-kicking slayer truly exploded into pop-culture consciousness. The show was a huge hit, catapulting Gellar to superstardom and, over the course of its seven-season run, racking up critical praise and a rabid fan base. Read More...

Hi readers! I hate to harp, but I'm going to hit you with a brief PSA before diving in with today's Prop-Watch post. Just so we're all crystal clear, these posts are not intended for serious collectors. There are numerous online resources you can use to educate yourselves on the art and science of prop collecting. Think of this space as a place to find cool crap, stuff you probably never would buy even if you had a spare $10,000 to drop on something completely frivolous. Got it? I'm looking at you out there in the peanut gallery. Good!

Today's Prop-Watch selection comes from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The cool one, from TV mastermind Joss Whedon and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. This prop was actually worn by Gellar, albeit in only one episode. Not an episode I've seen, but I'm guessing some of you "Buffy" fans will be pretty psyched. Read More...
