Many of us woke up this morning to the sight of an exciting new trailer, for Louis Leterrier's remake of "Clash of the Titans." Other than a footage-lite set visit, we really haven't seen anything from the actual movie until now. And it's looking pretty sweet, as you saw in the trailer this morning. This latest edition of Freeze Frame doesn't make it look any sweeter, but it does get a whole lot funnier. Enjoy.
If every movie trailer opened with a long shot of a giant scorpion, the world would be a far better place. The video below is the debut teaser for "Clash of the Titans," which hits theaters on March 26, 2010. It looks spectacle-rific, an effects-driven adventure set in a time when gods (more than one) interacted with mortals and monsters roamed the Earth freely. If the teaser is any indication, it looks like we'll be seeing a lot of both -- plus Sam Worthington -- come March.
Last week it was revealed that Angelina Jolie is well on her way to making "The Tourist" her next starring project. Today one more maybe has been revealed: "The Lives of Others" writer/director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. With key stars aligning around the movie, a 2011 release is looking likely.
Jolie's participation in "The Tourist" hinges on finding the right person to direct, Variety reports. Donnersmarck apparently fits the criteria, so expect the dominoes to fall if/when the director's participation is confirmed. Presuming everything works out, "Tourist" will be his first effort since his Oscar-winning work on "The Lives of Others" (2006). Read more...
A year ago, it seemed a remake of Jerome Salle's French thriller "Anthony Zimmer" was all set to begin filming in early 2009 with Tom Cruise and Charlize Theron starring and Bharat Nalluri ("The Crow: Salvation") directing. All of those players have now passed their respective hats though. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Theron is out and will potentially be replaced by Angelina Jolie.
The English-language redo, which is titled "The Tourist," had already seen Cruise replaced with "Terminator Salvation" actor Sam Worthington. Reportedly Nalluri is also off the film and producers seek a filmmaker who will work well with Jolie. Interestingly enough, the female half of Brangelina just finished shooting the action/thriller "Salt," for which she had replaced Cruise in the gender-switched lead role. Read more...
While there isn't any actual footage from the upcoming remake of "Clash of the Titans" out there, I've got the next best thing for you. On last week's episode of "Behind the Screen," we paid a visit to the set of the Sam Worthington-starring film, which is currently shooting in Wales.
In the video below you can check out interviews with Worthingon, Mads Mikkelson, Nicholas Hoult and Liam Cunningham as well as raw footage from the shoot. So not quite the polished clip you might want to see, but good stuff nonetheless.

Really people... do you need a more rousing endorsement than that? "Clash of the Titans" star Sam Worthington going toe-to-chitinous claw with a dumptruck-sized scorpion. The idea sells itself, really.
The below clip, in which Worthington is speaking on the set of "Clash of the Titans," is a tease for this Friday's episode of "Behind the Screen," airing at 7pm on MTV. "Clash" isn't the only upcoming release you can look for exclusive interviews and footage from; you'll also see new stuff from the Diablo Cody-penned "Jennifer's Body" -- teased yesterday in a brief look at MTV's interview with Megan Fox -- and from director Larry McTeigue's ultra-stylish, ultra-violent "Ninja Assassin."
This Friday at 7pm, MTV's semi-regular series "Behind the Screen" is back with exclusive clips and interviews from some of the fall season's most anticipated releases. In addition to getting your very first look at the set of the "Clash of the Titans" remake, starring Sam Worthington, we'll also take you behind the scenes with "Jennifer's Body."
In case you've somehow missed it -- a difficult thing to do, given all the... ummm... exposure "Transformers" star Megan Fox has brought along -- the Diablo Cody-penned teen horror flick is all about a possessed cheerleader (Fox) who preys on the souls of her male classmates while her bookish friend (Amanda Seyfried) tries to put an end to the madness. In the below interview clip, a preview of Friday's "Behind the Screen," Fox discusses a subject that I imagine most of you male readers might be interested in: kissing other women.

Opinions are like a Terminator-filled post-apocalyptic future -- they're absolutely everywhere.
On the matter of "Terminator" as a film franchise, opinions on the recent "Terminator Salvation" are fairly widespread, though the general consensus seems to be disappointment with the theatrical cut. A potential remedy might be on the way courtesy of the "Terminator Salvation - Director's Cut" home video release however. UGO reports that the MPAA has rated McG's cut of the film with a hard R for "some violence and brief nudity." Might this version of "Terminator Salvation," the one that McG wanted us to see all along, be enough to change the commonly held dissatisfaction with last May's release?
Possibly... but probably not. Read more...
Sam Worthington is a peculiar Hollywood story. The Australia-born actor is already a common name in geek circles thanks to his work on "Terminator Salvation" and "Avatar," but one of those films was critically panned and the other one hasn't even been released yet.
Still, there's something undeniably refreshing about a guy who can identify a rotten egg even if it came from his own barn, so to speak. Sci Fi Wire caught up with Worthington during a group interview, in which the actor spoke about "Terminator"'s shortcomings in pretty specific terms. Aside from admitting to the film's complete lack of humor, Worthington pointed out some continuity gaffs that one wouldn't expect to hear from the movie's leading man. Read more...
It was only a matter of time before hard evidence emerged that "Avatar" actually exists outside of convention halls and James Cameron's crazy mind. I'm actually kind of surprised it took this long. But the movie is indeed real and, if the planned "Avatar" day on August 21 hasn't convinced, then this newly revealed still certainly will.
What we have here is Sam Worthington with a thoughtful look on his face and... something else. The thing in the blue liquid -- cryofreeze? -- behind Worthington looks half-human/half-cat. As MTV Multiplayer editor Russ Frushtick so aptly noted, it looks like Cheetara from "ThunderCats." You're right Russ, it does.
