Russell CroweThe New York Times may have published Joe Wilson's now famous op-ed "What I Didn't Find in Africa" (aka evidence that Iraq had purchased uranium yellowcake), but now that Wilson's life is set to be a major motion picture, only on MTV News will you learn about "Who You Might Find in The Film."

"I'd love Russell Crowe," director Doug Liman enthused. "If you've met Joe, he's a really strong guy. I've never met an actor stronger than Russell Crowe."

Concluding in his piece that President George W. Bush either lied about or twisted intelligence to exaggerate the Iraqi threat in the weeks and months leading up to war, Wilson soon found himself the target of attack, which crested a week after the original article's publication when "Washington Post" columnist Robert Novak outed Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, as a covert CIA agent. Frank LucasReporting by Jayson Rodriguez

With Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe tearing up the big-screen (and the box office) in the Harlem-centric biopic "American Gangster," could a follow-up possibly be in the works?

That may be the case according to the film's real-life subject Frank Lucas, who revealed to MTV News that producers are apparently taking a wait-and-see approach to "AG2."

"We might make another movie, I guess," said Lucas. "We're just waiting to see what's going on. I really don't know what [the studio is] talking about. If I see the script and read it, maybe."

There would be plenty of material for a sequel to mine; with Lucas imprisoned, the Harlem drug trade continued unfettered and leaderless, with crack substituted as the substance of choice. Upon release, Lucas turned his attention towards rebuilding the Harlem community, one community program and center at a time.

Russell Crowe, star of 'Robin Hood'Ask any 5-year-old – never mind which 5-year-old, never mind which country - and it's likely he can give you the rundown on Robin Hood, Maid Marion, Little John, and the Sheriff of Nottingham, so familiar is the story to almost anyone in the Western Hemisphere. So how do you take one of history's most popular folk tales and make it fresh?

By putting it in the hands of Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe.

"'Nottingham' is the 'Gladiator' version of Robin Hood," super-producer Brian Grazer told MTV News about the upcoming twisted tale from the "American Gangster" tag team. "I think it will have the same propulsion that 'Gladiator' had - the same adrenaline hits."

Told from the Sheriff's point of view, the new movie centers around a familiar - yet very different - set of characters, director Ridley Scott said, revealing that his story begins when a legend first walks into history. Read More...

How would two of Hollywood's most personal A-listers react when thrown together on a movie set? That situation was put to the test when Russell Crowe and Christian Bale signed up for the Western "3:10 To Yuma," the thrilling remake that opens September 7. We put the issue to both heavy-hitters; watch their response in the video below.

Russell CroweAlthough we do occasionally find ourselves with a "Syriana," great political thrillers have been few-and-far between since the Nixon-era heyday of "The Parallax View," "Three Days of the Condor" and their ilk.

Which makes us all the more excited for the unnamed Ridley Scott flick that Russell Crowe is still calling "Body of Lies." We wrote about it recently after interviewing Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio, and this week watched the "Gladiator" star answer those who doubt Scott can truly criticize the government within the framework of a modern-day studio film.

"You obviously don't know Ridley Scott very well," Crowe grinned. Read More...

James MangoldI've already fessed up and written about what a fan I am of James Mangold's riveting new Western, "3:10 to Yuma." Mangold has been a director I've always found fascinating, dating back to my obsession a decade ago with the vastly underappreciated "Cop Land." So when I got a chance to talk to the "Walk the Line" director for the first time, I didn't give it a second thought. Read below as Mangold discusses the shades of gray in his new film, what he hates about modern Westerns, and why he felt like a failure after "Cop Land."

We began by talking about Ben Foster's kick-ass portrayal of Russell Crowe henchman Charlie Prince.

MTV: Did Charlie play on the page as well as Ben Foster plays it on the big screen?

James Mangold: Well it was a great role but it's definitely bigger in the movie than you might see on the page. Read More...

Maybe you've noticed one of the posters for the "3:10 to Yuma" in your local theater? 'Yuma' of course is a remake of a 1957 western that itself was based on a 1953 Elmore Leonard short story (yes, Elmore Leonard's been writing for a while now). The new flick, helmed by "Walk the Line" director James Mangold, stars Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. Now remember that poster I just mentioned? Check it out below and tell me if something doesn't fit.
