Bob DylanTwitter-Wood kicks off today with a big birthday shout-out to music legend Bob Dylan, who turned 70 years old today, and we're not the only ones sending him birthday wishes, either; several people in the film community have tipped their tweets in the "Like a Rolling Stone" singer-songwriter's direction on his big day.

Elsewhere, comedy mastermind Judd Apatow and "Breaking Dawn" star Jamie Campbell Bower revealed a little bit too much about their personal lives (though the laughs we're still fighting off should tell you that we're not complaining), two recent comedies get some new appraisals and Diablo Cody pours one out for her Showtime series "The United States of Tara," which was canceled yesterday.

Lars von TierLars von Trier has caused quite the stir over controversial comments he made at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. He's been condemned by Cannes officials and now he's getting similar abuse from film industry peers on Twitter, with a heaping amount of tongue-in-cheek jabs coming from Eli Roth.

In more pleasant news, the world got its first look at Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games" yesterday, and one of her co-stars — Elizabeth Banks, who plays Effie Trinket — was especially blown away by Lawrence's new look.

I'm @roundhoward and there's all that and more in today's Twitter-Wood for May 19, 2011.

Arnold SchwarzeneggerShocking news from Arnold Schwarzenegger's camp today, as the former governor revealed that he fathered a child over a decade ago with a member of his household staff, a revelation that led to his separation from Maria Shriver. The confession has prompted a wide range of reactions and ridicule from celebrities in the Twitter-Wood space, as you might expect.

In other news, many are buzzing about the just-released teaser for Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin," while one actor/rapper has strong words for Bill O'Reilly after his debate with Jon Stewart over Common's invitation to visit the White House.

Ashton KutcherIt's official: Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen on "Two and a Half Men." The "That '70s Show" actor teased his involvement late last night on Twitter, which prompted a flurry of cheers and jeers from several of his Hollywood peers. Winning? We'll see.

Speaking of winning, "Bridesmaids" hits theaters this weekend, and people are rightfully excited to see the Kristen Wiig-starring comedy. Reviews have been glowing and praise from celebs in the Twitter-Wood community continues to flow.

Someone had to make the first Twitter-Wood comparison between "The Wire" and the Rod Blagojevich trial, and Seth Meyers was that man. He, along with Roger Ebert and Jeff Katz had reactions to the single guilty verdict in Chicago last night, and they all posted those thoughts on Twitter.

In other tweets, "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" has received a lot of love from critics, despite its poor box office performance. Bret Easton Ellis decided to part ways with the pack, however, and declared his dissatisfaction with the movie. Find out how he felt below along with a weird exchange about Target between Michael Ian Black and Dane Cook and insights into Dr. Laura quitting her radio show.

Cancellation news came in spades to Twitter-Wood this week. First it was "The Sarah Silverman Program," and now the ax has fallen on "Law and Order." Luckily, Ice-T spoke up to assure everyone that "SVU" is still going strong, but some fans are feeling cheated.

Tyrese Gibson tweeted a grievance as well today, calling Apple out for not using a wider variety of users in their iPad advertisements. Check out what he wants to see changed, as well as what Cannes looked like in 1969 and who wished Jessica Alba a happy birthday. It's all retweeted for your perusal after the jump in Twitter-Wood for May 14, 2010. Read More...

Words of war and peace were had between Ice-T and Aimee Mann over the last 24 hours. In an exchange unlike any other I've seen since I started writing Twitter-Wood, the singer/songwriter (and "Big Lebowski" actress) questioned Ice's acting abilities in a tweet she probably would have preferred to leave private. Ice-T caught wind, though, because as most TW followers know, he as a small army in the Twitterverse.

In other posts, Roger Ebert earned my vote for Twitter Pic of the millenium with his birthday shout-out to Hugh Hefner. You can gaze upon it after the jump alongside thoughts about Robert Pattinson playing Kurt Cobain and Jackie Chan's birthday present from the Will Smith family. It's all in Twitter-Wood for April 9th, 2010. Read More...

My love of movies will always be associated with weekends at my dad's house. And not just because each visit included one or two trips to the multiplex and upwards of ten VHS rentals. It was also when I'd watch "At the Movies," the review show hosted by Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel, which has now been canceled after nearly 30 years (it will continue with new episodes for the next five months before going away forever).

Most of my experience with the show was when it was titled "Siskel & Ebert & the Movies." Long before I ever read film reviews, this was my first exposure to film criticism. More importantly though, it was my introduction to the general concept of talking about movies with a friend, an enemy, or something in between, as the duo appeared to be. The fact that I now write about movies for MTV Movies Blog and other outlets is definitely related to those early viewings. Read More...

The Winter Olympics have been entertaining plenty of Twitter-Wood citizens this week, but they've also been interfering with Seth Meyers' ability to understand who the captured Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is. Furthermore, they'll be going up against "Lost" on Tuesday night, but Damon Lindelof officially shrugged off the competition yesterday.

As for Kevin Smith's public Twitter tussle with Southwest Airlines over the weekend, plenty of his fellow tweeters have stepped up in support, including film critic Roger Ebert. You can check out Ebert's photo evidence, a comparison of "Twilight" to "Splash" and what actor Justin Chon looks like following cardio exercises after the jump.
