It comes as no surprise that supporting cast members in "New Moon" would try to splinter off their own factions in the endless "Team Edward vs. Team Jacob" debate, but it looks like BooBoo Stewart's got at least one backer for Team Seth, judging from his TwitPic upload today. Tinsel Korey, meanwhile, remains firmly behind Team Jacob.

In non-"Twilight" posting today, Danny DeVito had a nice showing for his birthday last night, even if his picture wasn't high enough quality to make Twitter Pic of the Day. Neil Patrick Harris posted a new shot from the "How I Met Your Mother Set" and David Wain contributed a courtside view from the Lakers game. Halloween tweets were way more interesting this morning since everyone was posting actual photos instead of just being indecisive about what to wear. "Twilight" star Billy Burke took the crown for most authentic, though, with his Sid Vicious outfit. He pretty much nailed the Sex Pistols' late bassist.

"Toy Story 3" director, Lee Unkrich, meanwhile retweeted a few incoming photos he received of well crafted character costumes. Gwen Stefani stood out from the pack in that batch, doing Woody's gal pal Jessie from "Toy Story 2." Then there was Fred Durst, who appears to have put a leg up on December, posting a shot of the Christmas tree he just set up in his living room. "Twilight" actress Anna Kendrick has a clever friend who's not above impersonating an "Eclipse" actor to make out with unsuspecting prey, so next time someone walks up you at a club telling you they've been filming with David Slade recently, double-check IMDb. Slade, meanwhile, announced an "official" wrap to "Eclipse" filming yesterday, following last week's tweeted wrap by Christian Serratos.

Elsewhere in Twitter-Wood, Rob Zombie noted the passing of former Danzig drummer Chuck Biscuits with a memorial post. The World Series had much of Twitter's attention as Ice-T captured a picture from the stands and Paul Feig pondered the art sunflower seed spitting. As we edge out of summer, the DVD release calendar is getting considerably more crowded than in weeks past. That's good news for movie fans, as studios offer up their blockbusters from earlier in the year, as well as a steady stream of catalog titles as we head into the holiday season.

This week kicks off with one of the most peculiar releases of 2009, Seth Rogen's "Observe and Report." Those expecting the straight-up comedy usually associated with the Apatow protégé should prepare for disappointment. Rather than offering the next "Superbad" (which Rogen co-wrote), "Observe and Report" (which he did not) is a twisted -- albeit comedic -- look at a mall security cop who doubles as a mentally unbalanced outcast with a hankering for weaponry. More than most, it's a love-it-or-hate-it proposition, but if this is your cup of tea then the DVD and Blu-ray offers up a healthy dose of extras. Those will HD players will receive picture-in-picture commentary from Rogen, Anna Faris and director Jody Hill, while both formats get nearly 30 minutes of deleted and extended scenes, various vignettes and a gag reel. Welcome to Gore Girls! MTV contributor Terri Schwartz doesn't know crap about the horror genre, and she's volunteered to be our Movies Blog guinea pig. She has a good guide too. I'm pleased to report that things are back to status quo. Last week's top stories were relatively free of "Twilight" news but we're back on track this week thanks to the barrage of images and news that emerged. We'll get to that in a minute though. First let's wrap up the weekly box office poll.

There was a big voter turnout this week, though nearly all of your votes went to one of the two horror releases: "Halloween II" and "The Final Destination." Rob Zombie's flick edged out "Destination," with 60% of the vote compared to the other's 38%. The remaining 2% is spread across the rest of the choices, with no clear leader among them. Zombies, vampires and supernatural masked serial killers: these are the monsters currently revving popular culture's collective engine. That wasn't always the case though. It wasn't so long ago that moviegoers were foaming at the mouths for eyepatches and hook hands, but as Bruno would say, pirates are sooo 2007.

Of course, don't let Disney, Jerry Bruckheimer or Johnny Depp hear you say that -- they're still hard at work on a fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" adventure. Or Steven Spielberg for that matter. But there's another filmmaker in Hollywood who is ready to set sail with the scurvy genre, someone you probably wouldn't expect to have an interest in Davy Jones' locker: none other than "Halloween 2" director Rob Zombie.

To keep with the running Rob Zombie/"Halloween II" theme this week, I'm featuring yet another related item in today's eBay Prop-Watch. Ask anyone what they think of first when the subject of "Halloween" -- the horror franchise, not the holiday -- comes up, and most will answer Michael Myers' mask. Zombie's vision for the remakes diverges a bit from the previous films of course, but Myers is still his recognizable self beneath all of that filth and grime.

Here's a bit of trivia that you may not know. The original mask used in the 1978 film was created from a William Shatner Halloween mask, which was purchased for less than $2. It's amazing when you think about it, that the dictates of a low budget shoot were responsible for one of Hollywood's most iconic movie monsters. And that's why this second Prop-Watch for the week features yet another version of Myers' mask. Read more...
