Adam Sandler movies generally have big casts, but he's throwing caution to the wind on his latest project. Not only will it feature all the Happy Madison regulars (David Spade, Rob Schneider, Kevin James, and Chris Rock) together in one film for the first time, but he's snagged Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, and Colin Quinn just to keep things classy and sexy.
According to Variety, the untitled comedy centers on five best friends from high school who reunite after 30 years for a Fourth of July party. With these five guys, I think you can expect someone to be seriously injured by fireworks, and at least one of men to get naked (our money is on Schneider). Hayek and Rudolph will play the spouses of Sandler and Rock, respectively, while Quinn's role is unspecified. Read more...
Rob Schneider gross-out comedies are a staple of the film year. I don't know if that's a good thing, but we're never without one. According to Variety, he'll be starring in "Virgin on Bourbon Street" alongside Jenna Dewan ("Step Up") and Brianne Davis ("Jarhead"). After all, it's not a Schneider film without a few hot actresses. It will be directed by Claire Kilner, who we last saw behind "The Wedding Date."
"Virgin" follows a sexually abstinent college student, presumably played by Dewan, who finds her entire academic career threatened by one night of debauchery. (Where the heck does she go to school? The Middle Ages?) Read more...
He was an Italian delivery man in "Mr. Deeds," a Creole townie in "The Waterboy," an Asian minister in "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," and, most recently, a Palestinian cab driver in "You Don't Mess With the Zohan." (And we haven’t even mentioned the time he played a Hawaiian, a Prince, and that guy from "Big Daddy.")
When Adam Sandler makes a comedy, you can make money betting on two inevitabilities: One, it’ll be funny and two, Rob Schneider will show up at some point as a grossly exaggerated ethnic stereotype.
That trend will continue in Sandler's newest film, "Bedtime Stories," Schneider revealed, telling MTV News that he will appear in the flick as a "Native American." Read more...
