Jason SegelJason Segel continues to reign supreme among the adult comedians in Hollywood right now. His upcoming "The Muppets" is sure to be a giant, lovable success, he has us begging for more "I Love You Man," and "How I Met Your Mother" is still going strong, and now he has yet another upcoming project for us to get excited for.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Segel is going undercover. To be more precise, he's going back to the '80s as an "Undercover Cop." "Butter" scribe Jason Micallef is penning the script, and DreamWorks will produce it. The plot is still under wraps but apparently it's inspired by the true story of a former cop that finagles his way into the New Jersey criminal underworld. The concept sounds like it could be hilarious with Segel at the helm.

There are plenty of undercover cop films out there, and this appropriately titled film could go a number of different ways. So we decided to list off our favorite undercover films that we hope "Undercover Cop" borrows from.

Sally Menke and Quentin TarantinoIt's a sad day in Hollywood, especially for Quentin Tarantino fans.

Today is March 15. Also known as the Ides of March on the Roman calendar. The day is significant because it's the same day Julius Caesar was cut down on the floor of the Roman Senate, in 44 BC. It was a public assassination spearheaded by Caesar's supposed supporter Marcus Junius Brutus -- hence the famous line from Shakespeare's play, "Et tu, Brute?" -- and participated in by many of those present that day. Now, more than 2,000 years later, and thanks largely to the aforementioned playwright, people still know to "Beware the Ides of March!"

Hollywood fiction is rife with double-crosses. Some of the best films in history hinge on a sudden reversal of loyalty. Let's face it: double-talk and surprise twists make for good storytelling. And there's little that's more surprising than a dude who you thought was a good guy turning around and shooting the hero in the face. Or more likely, missing by inches and paying the price for that treachery. What kind of Hollywood ending would it be if the good guys didn't win?

So in the spirit of the Ides of March, here are some of our favorite classic Hollywood double-crosses. Needless to say, some spoilers lie ahead. Read More...

Eli RothFor my money, the best director out there right now is Quentin Tarantino. And for exactly that reason, the number one most-anticipated film for me in 2009 has always been “Inglourious Basterds.” When I caught up with leading man/director/Tarantino bud Eli Roth, he clued me in on some secret “winks” for the fans of “Reservoir Dogs,” “Pulp Fiction” and the rest – and naturally, now I’m just even more stoked.

“We have the ‘40’s version of Red Apple cigarettes,” Roth revealed, making reference to the fictional cancer sticks smoked by characters in Tarantino’s films. “Quentin had all of his products transported back in time.” Read More...
