MTV's After Hours has made a name for itself creating the highest quality late night entertainment around. But now, with the help of Ice T, the series could be making its big break into prime time programming.

Enter "Snowy River," which absolutely was definitely not shot on location at the Sundance Film Festival or anything like that (hint: okay maybe it was). Snowy River is a mysterious town with many terrifying murderers on the loose (you could get killed for playing peek-a-boo) and even more interesting inhabitants (just wait until you see the Inarticulate Twins). As the trailer teases, it will be a lot better than "NCIS"... we hope.

If you thought "Blue Valentine" was a laugh riot, get ready to piss yourself during Monogamy."

Which is to say that "Monogamy," a new indie starring Rashida Jones and Chris Messina, takes the dramatic potential of the sort of romantic love explored in "Blue Valentine" and drags it into new, insanely depressing depths. Looked at another way, though, "Monogamy" is simply an unsparing and utterly truthful look at a couple in, and sometimes out, of love, as difficult as that may be to watch.

Making it all the more difficult is the fact that, off-screen, Jones and Messina are actually friends. "I was nervous, because she went to high school with my girlfriend," Messina told MTV News of Jones. "She would come over to my apartment and play with my kids. That's how I knew Rashida. When we first decided to do this together, I was a bit scared. Not only making out, but just how intimate that the places the film goes."

Rashida Jones is one lucky lady, particularly when it comes to being a part of amazing ensembles.

On television, she's been a part of the crazy talented casts of "Parks and Recreation," "The Office" and "Freaks and Geeks." On the big screen, she's held her own with the guys of "I Love You, Man" and Oscar-winner "The Social Network."

Now, the actress finds herself amongst what is, perhaps, the most sought-after ensemble ever: "The Muppets!" During a recent interview with Jones, the actress told us what it was like working with her old pal Jason Segel (who helped bring the Muppets back to the big screen and co-wrote the movie) and all those iconic characters, particularly Kermit the Frog!

Paul Rudd didn't look like his usual, clean-cut self when we visited him on set during his last day of filming the indie comedy "My Idiot Brother" this summer. In fact, sporting long hair, a bushy beard, cutoff shorts and a pair of bright orange Crocs, he looked like either a homeless man or the kind of guy who would follow Phish around on tour. That's because Rudd is playing the title character in the film and not, as you may have originally suspected, the idiot's less idiotic sibling. Check out what Rudd had to say about the film, which was directed by Jesse Peretz and debuts as this year's Sundance Film Festival, in the video below.

"I immediately go to jail for selling marijuana to a uniformed police officer," Rudd said of his character, an idealistic organic farmer who, in the wake of his incarceration, is forced to stay with each of his three sisters in turn. "However, the character is not dumb. The character just kind of appeals to everybody's higher angels and thinks that if he throws goodness out there, it will in turn come back." He's not exactly correct, as his attempts to sow happiness ultimately end up reaping a healthy amount of havoc. Read More...

Muppet movie castingThe new Muppet movie (titled "The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made," "'The Greatest Muppet Movie of All Time" or nothing at all, depending on where you look) snowballed together a good collection of talent this year as Jason Segel and Nick Stoller's project picked up "Flight of the Conchords" co-creator James Bobin to direct. The cast surrounding Segel just expanded, too, with Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones reportedly hammering out terms for joining the film.

Segel and Adams will play a boyfriend-girlfriend duo that helps the Muppets in their battle against Cooper's villain, who's threatening to tear down the Muppets' old studio; Jones will play the role of an ABC exec, according to a story on Heat Vision. Read More...

A Nightmare on Elm Street-- Freddy's back for a "Nightmare on Elm Street" sequel, possibly in 3-D, as Warner distribution president Dan Fellman says: "We don't have a story yet, but this is the largest horror opening in the April-May corridor, and it just proves there's a lot left in the franchise." [The Wrap]

-- Rumors are circulating that a trailer for a J.J. Abrams project called "Super 8," which may or may not be a sequel to "Cloverfield," will premiere in front of "Iron Man 2." -- Michael Keaton loves talking about playing Ken in "Toy Story 3," and we love hearing him talk about it. "Ken actually serves as kind of a concierge — somewhere between a tour guide, a concierge, maitre d' and ambassador," he says. "He's not only alone in his dream house but probably alone in the dream." Glorious. [Hero Complex] Read More...

The finale of the inaugural season of "Parks and Recreation" ended, hilariously, with broken bones and shattered relationships. Amy Poehler's loveable goofball Leslie Knope was this close to bagging her co-worker and one-time hump buddy Mark (Paul Schneider), only to see him tumble into the muddy pit they spent all season trying to transform into a public park. Slacker Andy (Chris Pratt) and nurse/community activist Ann (Rashida Jones), meanwhile, had come this close to breaking up after he'd spent all season wheelchair-bound following his own boo-boo-inducing fall into the same pit.

With all these cliffhangers up in the air and the second season set to begin on NBC tonight at 8:30 p.m., Pratt called up MTV News during some downtime on set to chat about what we can expect this year, who's the biggest jerk in the cast, and how he and new wife Anna Faris plan to celebrate the first episode. -- The Sundance Film Festival will add the Next section for next year's gathering. The category will showcase six to eight films which make "innovative and original" use of low-/no-budget features. I wonder if "District 9" would have made the cut. (Variety)
