Last night got busy in Twitter-Wood on a few fronts. Former "Remote Control" host Ken Ober's passing surprised a number of tweeters, including Brian Posehn and Jeff Katz, who both noted his loss.
L.A.'s Westwood village theatre, meanwhile, was epicenter for all of the "Twilight" Twitterverse during the "New Moon" premiere. BooBoo Stewart posted a pic from the red carpet, Rachelle Lefevre posted her reasons for missing the event, Brett Ratner was in attendance and Kevin Smith made a date out of the night with his daughter. You can check out what they had to say after the jump along with Twitter Pic pick that I selected more for its significance than its shock value, as Neil Patrick Harris officially moved into the Twitter-Wood neighborhood. It's all in the report for November 17, 2009. Read more...
The actress, who plays the evil vampire Victoria in the first two movies, gave two reasons for not attending the premiere on her Twitter. "2 fans at the premiere: w/ Honey in hospital," she wrote. "& being fired from Eclipse tonight was just 2 emotional 4 me & I couldn't manage it. So sorry."
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" might as well have been a major Hollywood premiere last night, because Twitter-Wood was all over it and Ice-T even posted a shot of himself with the pair of nightvision goggles packaged with the game's Prestige Edition bundle. Other first-day buyers included Fred Durst, Diablo Cody, and possibly Michael Ian Black, whose snark is sometime difficult to see through.
In a follow-up tweet, Korey Tinsel revealed that she still doesn't have a dress for the "New Moon" premiere, so she may be forced to do something desperate. All of those tweets and more are waiting after the jump, along with an impressive home security camera video taken by producer Dana Brunetti that shows what happens when you try to steal plants from his yard. Someone with a steady hand sent Sean Patrick Flannery a picture of the best "Boondock Saints" jack-o-lantern you're likely to see this year, and he retweeted in kind. There really wasn't any other choice for the Twitter Pic of the Day.
In other tweets, David Slade continued his "Eclipse" posting with a shot of one of the film's stunt co-coordinators and Rachelle LeFevre admitted to crying during "Where the Wild Things Are." Check out those post below along an old clip of The Ultimate Warrior that Aziz Ansari dug up, how Eliza Dushku feels about Dungeons & Dragons, who wants her at his table to play and how Ice-T is faring at "Borderlands" on his Xbox 360. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for October 27, 2009. Read more...
FROM MTV.COM: We're not even into November yet and the extended looks at "New Moon" continue to flood in on an almost daily basis. This week alone Summit Entertainment dropped 11 brand-new pics of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and others, plus a fresh clip that showed Stewart's Bella Swan going face-to-face with a shape-shifting werewolf. Continuing this streak of "New Moon" sneak peeks is a brand-new 30-second TV spot, which premiered during "Access Hollywood" on Wednesday, that showcases a number of vampire versus werewolf face-offs.
The ad gives us our first good look at Rachelle Lefevre's vampire Victoria in action. Flame-haired and steely-eyed, we see her standing in the woods as she stares down an approaching werewolf. She then pulls a super-fast 180 and takes off in the other direction as the hairy beast floods the frame. The shot then cuts to Victoria sprinting through the forest while the wolf charges behind her. Finally she leaps athletically into the air to escape her predator.
An epic week of "Twilight" TwitPics continues, this time with Peter Facinelli offering an actor's eye view of his favorite "Eclipse" makeup artist. Rachelle Lefevre also unleashed a few shots of her and her dog, who may not be an artist, but definitely looks soft.
Other Twitter revelations today include Fred Durst's affinity for a Boba Fett statue that he refuses to part with no matter where he moves, as well as Lloyd Kaufman's rundown of Troma films that studios have offered to remake. Read on, and you'll find out about all of that, as well as where to find the "Toy Story 3" trailer and how big of a drinking glass Jerry Lewis can stuff into his mouth. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for October 1, 2009. Read more...
It was an epic day of awkward headshots in the Twitter-Wood feed today, so go click on the photo links knowing full well that you are about to see some rare sights. Pee Wee Herman, Paul Reubens' recently revived alter-ego earned top honors for a shot posted by Andy Milonakis, but Alyson Hannigan, Danny DeVito and Ice-T all jumped in the running too.
None of them, however, openly invited New Yorkers to walk up to them on the street and receive a kiss, though, which is cannot be said of Simon Pegg. You can find a link to that warm proposition along with Rachelle Lefevre's thoughts on "The Biggest Loser" and Rose McGowan's take on getting beat up. There's all in the mix for the September 23 Twitter-Wood report. Read more...
Disney surprised a lot of tweeters this morning when the company announced its acquisition of Spider-Man and X-Men publishers Marvel Entertainment. Kevin Smith, Jeff Katz, Dax Shepard, and many others chimed in with thoughts on the purchase.
Elsewhere, the tweets are still trickling in from those remembering DJ AM, including renowned Vegas party-goer Paris Hilton. The list of tweets today was actually fairly thick to sort through, with all of these reactions, a photograph of a "Twilight" star biting into a horse and Bob Saget's response to a fan's request for him to tell the "Aristocrats" joke on Twitter. It's all below in the Twitter-Wood Report for August 31, 2009. Read more...
David Slade may be experiencing some frustrations on the set of "Eclipse" right now, but none of them are coming from his lead cast members, according to his tweets today. The director spoke highly of "Twilight" lovebirds Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, but had less complimentary things to say about airplane noise overhead.
Director Kevin Smith, meanwhile, offered up some self-deprecating commentary on his appearance in the new full-length "Degrassi" movie, "Degrassi Goes Hollywood," where he returned to hob-nob with his favorite Canadian teen-stars. And speaking of teen-stars, I've got a shot of Frankie Muniz's recent hand injury in the Twitter Pic of the Day. Have a look at that along with other pics from Rachelle Lefevre and Neil Gaiman. Those and more lurk below in the the Twitter-Wood report for August 25, 2009. Read more...
Now that production is underway, reports of "Eclipse" set photos will be popping up more and more frequently. I've never understood the appeal myself. These days, so much of the glue that brings a movie together is applied during the post-production phase that they tend to be pretty boring. Sure, you sometimes get a glimpse of cool costumes or foreground set trappings, but with a movie like "Eclipse," even that will be relatively unexciting.
Then again, that's kind of what being a fan is all about. Obsessing over the small stuff just as much as you do over the big stuff. And here you've got set photos featuring two newcomers to the "Twilight" team: Bryce Dallas Howard, who replaces Rachelle Lefevre in the role of Victoria, and Xavier Samuel, who plays Victoria's lackey Riley. They're blurry and captured from a distance, but there are a lot of them. The pic up there is just a piece of one; head over to Lainey Gossip for the full set.
