The pictures we've seen of "Conan" so far seem to prove beyond a doubt that the reboot starring Jason Momoa has the potential for greatness, and that Momoa definitely has the look to step into Arnold Schwarzenegger's sandals as the epic barbarian. New images that have hit the net courtesy of Bleeding Cool give us our first glimpse the film's leading ladies, Rose McGowan and Rachel Nichols, as well as a look at some of the action set pieces. [Check out the photos on Bleeding Cool.]
McGowan, who plays half-human, half-witch Marique, definitely looks unlike we've seen her before. The images are a bit too tiny to clearly make out the details, but in one pic McGowan can be seen lying on a bed with her red-and-black hair pulled tightly back. There's a better shot of her from behind, which shows her leading soldiers into a ruined city. Read More...
FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Welcome back to Dress Like A Movie Star Week here on Hollywood Crush. We're continuing to bring you Halloween costume ideas inspired by some of the most outrageous, colorful and downright awesome characters on the big screen in 2009. We know your wallets aren't exactly being filled by a money tree in your backyards these days, so we're going to try our darnedest to keep these costume ideas easy to create and easy on your bank account! Let the trick and treating begin!
We were green with envy when Rachel Nichols got to have a quick romp with the out-of-this-world hottie Chris Pine in this summer’s mega-hit "Star Trek." So, while Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Nyota (Zoe Saldana) may have been the intergalactic couple to make it work despite some interplanetary meanies trying to come between them, we think bad boy Capt. James Kirk (Chris) and Star Fleet cadet Gailia (Rachel) will make for far more interesting, not to mention eye-catching, couples costume (or solo, we don’t judge!) this Halloween.
We're not going to have you recreate your own Vulcan (though, hats off to you if you can pull that off!), but we so have some helpful hints (after the jump) to best capture the look of Kirk and Gailia. We’ve tried to make them as budget-friendly as possible (heck, times are probably tough on the USS Enterprise) and cool enough that you’ll (live long and) prosper this October 31st.

All of us here at MTV are excited for Ridley Scott's "Alien" prequel. The director hasn't had anything to do with the series since the 1979 original, which is a bonafide classic. To honor Scott and his lasting contribution to badass women in film, we've paired up the lovely duo of MTV contributor Jenni Miller and producer Sohyung Kang to produce a magical list of five leading ladies who could rock Ripley.
Although there aren't any hard and fast deets out there concerning Ridley Scott's prequel to "Alien," I've got my fingers crossed for a female badass to rival Sigourney Weaver's iconic Ripley. Since Weaver has stated publicly she doesn't think Ripley could be part of an "Alien" prequel, I have a few suggestions as to who could fulfill the role of cinema's favorite alien-killing, kitty-saving, space-feminist. FROM MTV.COM: "Star Trek" launched Chris Pine into Hollywood stardom. "Terminator Salvation" delivered Sam Worthington, a guy you'll be hearing a lot more of in movies like "Avatar" and "Clash of the Titans." "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" introduced the world to a guy named Freddie Stroma, a blond Brit who has leading man written all over his chiseled cheekbones.
A bunch of big-budget summer movies have given us a breakout star, someone we must keep our eye on, an actor or actress who will use the summer of 2009 as a springboard to even bigger and better things. On Friday, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" hits theaters. Who will we be talking about on Monday? Will "Joe" prove popular enough to boost the profile of someone most people have never heard about before?
MTV News caught an early screening of the film, and now we present our top picks for the actor and actress you'll be talking about in the days and years to come:

"G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" is out on Friday. Lots of action. One of the highlights -- not the best mind you, but up there -- is when the Baroness (Sienna Miller) and Scarlett (Rachel Nichols) throw down for a bare-knuckle brawl. Well, it's not all bare-knuckle. I recall some flying feet. And chains. No hair-pulling though. This ain't no cat fight; these sisters are serious.
In the below video, Miller and Nichols talk about their little brawl. It's a shame such lovely ladies had to mess each other up, but it's worth it for the high-energy action. And head over to MTV.com to check out the rest of our "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" Rough Cut!
Newcomers may not realize it, but the "Star Trek" franchise is rife with some truly bizarre casting choices, particularly within the film series. Kirstie Alley, John Larroquette, Alan Ruck, Kim Cattrall, F. Murray Abraham… lots of folks you wouldn’t necessarily expect to see popping up in a sci-fi feature, particularly one with "Trek’s" devoted fanbase.
J.J. Abrams’ just-released "Star Trek" continues on in the same tradition, with a number of the director’s friends and colleagues appearing in various extraneous roles. Read More...
