LeBron JamesAs sports fans and pretty much anyone who watches television in Miami, New York, LA, Chicago and Cleveland know, superstar basketball player LeBron James has been mulling over which team he plans on joining for the 2010-11 season — and he's settled on the Miami Heat!

Ever since he became a free agent, team after team have been courting the young athlete, many making crazy expensive offers in order to bring James over to their side, but the choice was ultimately LeBron's — and he settled on the Heat. "The A-Team." Does anyone hear or read that title without the iconic theme song popping into their heads? I guess maybe some of you younger readers aren't as familiar, but I have to believe that years in syndication have kept the TV-spawned mercenary group alive for successive generations.

No worries if you're clueless though; Joe Carnahan has got you covered. The "Smokin' Aces" writer/director is following up his 2006 action flick with an adaptation of the classic TV series, and all signs so far point to "awesome." Just peep the trailer:

I love the bit with the parachuting tank and the fighter jet. That sort of action moment just screams "holy crap." Read more...

There's no getting around it: Snake Plissken is a badass. It even says so in his contract. In John Carpenter's "Escape from New York," Kurt Russell put forth a truly memorable performance as the eyepatch-wearing former Army lieutenant charged with rescuing the U.S. President from the self-appointed Duke of New York (Isaac Hayes). So iconic was the role that the star of the coming remake is going to have his work cut out for him in matching it.

Fortunately, there are some very talented performers out there. Among them are a select few who possess the chops to strike the right balance between menacing badass and one-liner spouting... something. Who are they? Hit the jump and see for yourself. And click the image up top to check out our awesome image gallery of potential Plissken players. Read more...

UPDATE: Surprise, surprise, the trailer was pulled. I hope you managed to get a taste. A shiny, new hi-def version will certainly be hitting the web sometime soon, so stay tuned.

I don't know about you readers, but as a child of the '80s, I can't wait to see "The A-Team" this summer. Goofy, over-the-top action doesn't scare me in the slightest. Just like last summer's "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," "The A-Team" sort of demands that kind of treatment.

The cast is certainly high-profile, even downright respected. The quartet of mercs will be played by Liam Neeson, Sharlto Copley, Bradley Cooper and UFC champ Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, the relative newcomer of the bunch. We've seen very little of the movie so far -- just some set photos and press shots -- but that all changes today. A low-fi version of the trailer hit the Internet today, and you can check it out after the jump. Be warned though: if you want the full effect, you'd do better to hold off and wait until you can catch it in front of one of this weekend's new releases. Read more...
