"The Secret Life of Bees," based on the bestselling novel, is set in the racially-charged South during the 1960s and follows a white girl (Dakota Fanning) who flees an abusive home with her African-American caregiver (after springing her from bigots at the local jail). Together, the two travel to the small South Carolina town where the secret behind her mother's death lies buried.

During a recent visit to the set, we spoke with co-stars Jennifer Hudson (who plays the caregiver) and artist Alicia Keys, who plays a part in the film. The co-stars took a break from their busy schedules to talk about music and the pic, which also stars Queen Latifah and Paul Bettany.

Together, the narratives attempt to illustrate the harsh realities of life in the Arctic, while complementing it with love and laughter. Read More...

Since starring together in "Bringing Down the House," Latifah and Martin have formed a friendship and desire to work together once again with that film's director, Adam Shankman. And now that the Oscar nominee is attached to play the dying millionaire whose soul accidentally ends up sharing a body with her lawyer, she says that Shankman and herself are hoping to talk Martin into the unprecedented move of remaking his own performance.
