Arnold Schwarzenegger's interest in a Hollywood comeback is hardly news at this point. We told you last month that the ex-Governator was officially fielding offers for an acting return, including a possible resurrection of the "Terminator" franchise.

But it's one thing to hear the reports and a completely different thing to hear the news from Schwarzenegger himself. Speaking with The Arnold Fans, Schwarzenegger confirmed talks of a "Terminator" return, as well as fourteen other possible comeback projects.

According to the actor, his list of offers includes "obvious ones from The Terminator to remakes of Predator and The Running Man and all of those things."

"The American" hits theaters today, slotting into an early Wednesday release two days before the Labor Day weekend box office session heats up in earnest. Starring George Clooney as a disenchanted American assassin who seeks refuge overseas, "The American" certainly sounds like an entertaining, worthwhile movie experience — but it doesn't sound nearly as American as I'd expect based on the title.

Clearly, "American" is a very subjective word. What does it mean to be American? It's an ideal that has been represented in various different ways on the big screen in the past, from tobacco-chewing action heroes to brave cowboys and even hard-partying high school idiots. Frankly, any one of these American heroes could star in a movie titled "The American" and I wouldn't blink an eye.

Robert Rodriguez may have the longest list of remake projects in Hollywood, with "Barbarella," "The Jetsons" and "Red Sonja" all on his docket. That list gained one more franchise Thursday as he announced he would be rebooting Universal's sci-fi/action "Predator" series with a new film titled "Predators."

"I'm going to be able to shoot my upcoming 'Machete' here, a sci-fi action film called 'Nerverackers,' a reboot of the 'Predator' series called 'Predators,' and a couple of smaller movies called 'Sin City 2' and 'The Jetsons,'" Rodriguez said at a press event, according to IESB.
