Tina FeyTina Fey and director Paul Weitz have dealt with the pitfalls of high-school life in "Mean Girls" and "American Pie," respectively, and now they're graduating and heading to college.

According to Variety, "30 Rock" actress Fey is in discussions to star in Universal's "Admission," where she would play an admissions officer at Princeton.

"Admission" is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Jean Hanff Korelitz. It follows admissions officer Portia Nathan, a woman who is overly dedicated to her job and finds purpose in her gatekeeper role. She lands herself in a difficult situation when she meets a talented but rough-around-the-edges 17-year-old from a poor New England town named Jeremiah who might not be "Princeton material" despite his talent. It forces her to confront issues in her own past and leads her into a career-endangering fight with Princeton admissions. Read More...

Everyone's favorite Fockers are back, just in time for the holiday season! It's been nearly 10 years since we first encountered the shenanigans, catastrophes and awkward comedy of the Focker and Byrnes families, and now they've invited us join them for a third cinematic adventure, "Little Fockers," helmed by Paul Weitz (brother of "New Moon" director, Chris Weitz).

This time around, the film focuses on how the addition of two new Fockers, Greg (Ben Stiller) and Pam's (Terri Polo) 5-year-old twins Henry and Samantha, affects the fam. And it also deals with Jack's (Robert De Niro) realization that Greg is next in line to be the Byrnes-Focker patriarch or, as he likes to put it, the "Godfocker." All the main players, including Blythe Danner, Barbara Streisand, Dustin Hoffman and even Owen Wilson, return. Read More...

In the beginning, there was "Meet the Parents." Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro clashed comedic wits on the big screen, and it was good. In the second installment, "Meet the Fockers," the Stiller/De Niro powerhouse shared their screen time with the elder Fockers, the parents of Stiller's character Gaylord, played by Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand. Gaylord's met his in-laws and introduced said in-laws to the elder Fockers. What does that leave?

"Little Fockers"!! We've known for awhile that the Focker-spawn will be the next members of Stiller's growing fictional family to hit the big screen. Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant" director Paul Weitz will helm it and the key cast members will return. But the latest news? Jessica Alba. Read More...

Last week I ran excerpts from Larry Carroll's interview with "American Pie" director Paul Weitz, who is currently wrapping up work on his next project, "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant." Weitz has a brother who knows a little something about vampires too, first name Chris. Maybe you've heard of him. He's wrapping up work right now too, on the soon-to-release "Twilight" follow-up, "New Moon."

When MTV's Josh Horowitz sat down with Chris at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks ago, he had to mine for additional details on Weitz's treatment of Edward Cullen in the sequel. See, Edward doesn't factor very heavily into "New Moon," but Robert Pattinson has become something of a superstar. So how, specifically, will Weitz feature his top talent as a star in the sequel when he isn't really supposed to be there for much of it?

Paul WeitzChris Weitz and Paul Weitz are sibling filmmakers. They earned an Oscar nom for their collaborative writing and directing efforts on "About a Boy." Paul previously directed "American Pie," and he went on to write and direct "In Good Company" and "American Dreamz." Now he's doing a movie about vampires, "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant."

Chris helped his bro out on "American Pie," and then went on after "Boy" to direct "The Golden Compass." He's doing a movie now about vampires too. Perhaps you've heard of it. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon." Two brothers, two vampire movies. In an additional connection to the legendary blood-suckers, the sibs' grandmother, Lupita Tovar, starred in the 1930s Spanish-language version of "Dracula." That's a lot of garlic hate for one family. Read More...

'Twilight'The "Twilight" franchise has officially replaced Batman for crazy rumors and speculation, causing many a Twilight fan to pull their hair out. Lately, the focus has been behind the camera as everyone seems to be in the running to direct the third installment, "Eclipse."

Drew Barrymore's possible involvement caused the most stir, with many doubting that she had the directing chops needed. Barrymore has only one film under her belt, the soon-to-be-released "Whip It!", but many actors successfully transition to directing. So why not? Read More...
