FROM NEWSROOM: It was all a dream ... come true.
The trailer for the Christopher "Biggie" Wallace biopic "Notorious" surfaced on the Net today. If MTV News hadn't done a set visit several months back, if Derrick "D-Dot" Angeletti and Diddy hadn't given me a personal co-sign of the film, and if the movie weren't being spearheaded in part by Big's managers Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts, I might have been very nervous about pressing the play button today.

Whether we're taking biopics, or any other genre really, one of our most anticipated upcoming films around these parts is "Notorious," the much-hyped Notorious B.I.G. movie due in theaters in January. And when we recently caught up with the actors who’ll be portraying Diddy and Tupac, they promised a unique spin on their larger-than-life characters.
"I think the brother is deep," Derek Luke ("Antwone Fisher") said of Puffy. "Most people know him as a flamboyant giant and mouthpiece. But he was a guy with a dream and a vision, who helped transform a language for America, which is hip-hop."

"My first job as an actor came when my friend wrote this play called 'Up Against the Wind,' and it was about Tupac. We did it at school, and it went off-Broadway. That’s how I got '8 Mile,' after they saw me as Tupac in that." Read more...

Would you believe Sean “Diddy” Combs? I don’t, but then, Luke is here to testify:
“Most people know him as a flamboyant giant and mouthpiece but he was guy with a dream and a vision,” Luke said of Combs, who he is portraying in the upcoming “Notorious,” the story of the rise and fall of the Notorious B.I.G. “He helped transform a language for America, which is hip-hop.” Read more...
