FROM MTV MOVIES: Ten years ago, Baz Luhrmann brought us into the world of the "Moulin Rouge," a sexy, musical take on the subculture of turn-of-the-century Paris based on the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. It starred Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman and featured over-the-top costumes and reinventions of modern songs from "Lady Marmalade" to "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

To commemorate that movie's 10th anniversary, MTV News reunites Luhrmann, Kidman and McGregor to celebrate "Moulin Rouge at 10: A Spectacular Spectacular MTV News Event" on Monday, May 2, at 3 p.m. ET on MTV.com. The director and stars will be joined by co-star John Leguizamo, who played artist Toulouse-Lautrec, and Catherine Martin, who won the Oscar for costume design and art direction. Hosted by MTV News' Josh Horowitz, the live stream will include special appearances and live interviews while looking back at how the film came to be and how its legacy continues to grow.

To get in on the fun, fans can submit questions for the "Moulin Rouge" director and talent via the @MTVNews Twitter handle with the hashtag #AskMoulin.

The Oscars are just three days away now, and as the race draws to a close, it feels like it's getting tighter than ever.

In the Best Supporting categories, "The Fighter" co-stars Christian Bale and Melissa Leo were long considered the frontrunners for their categories. Lately, however, some potential spoilers have emerged. And it's like that for a lot of this year's categories — like Best Actress, an award that many believed belonged to Natalie Portman months ago.

But is she really a shoe-in for the top prize? Can someone stand in Portman's way? We're fielding that question past the jump, and asking you to join us by voting on YOUR pick for Best Actress!

Firth and KidmanIt was only a matter of time before likable stars and critical darlings Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman teamed up on a project together, but who could have guessed it would be the unlikely duo of Park Chan-Wook and Wentworth Miller that would bring them together?

The Los Angeles Times reports that both of the 2011 Oscar nominees are in talks to sign on for "Stoker," a mystery-drama that follows a girl named India Stoker (played by the increasingly in-demand Mia Wasikowska), her mother (Kidman), and their mysterious uncle (Firth) who shows up after her father's death.

So how do Chan-Wook and Miller factor in? Acclaimed South Korean director Chan-Wook ("Oldboy," "Thirst"), who has allegedly already met with Firth and Kidman to discuss the film, would be tackling his first-ever English-language film.

This summer, a bunch of "Saturday Night Live" alumni will be brought together in the movie "Grown-Ups," directed by Dennis Dugan. For his next trick, Dugan will be tackling "Just Go With It," starring Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler, Nicole Kidman and Heidi Montag. It must be a tough gig, all those laborious days of shooting in sunny Hawaii.

Kidman is clearly struggling, as you can see in the set photo below. Aniston too; she's the one facing away from the camera. And Sandler? He's on the set, but not in the picture. Probably because he's crying in the corner, his spirit broken by the challenge of shooting under such tough tropical conditions.

FROM MTV.COM: In 2001 Nicole Kidman sang her way to a Golden Globe win and an Oscar nomination for "Moulin Rouge!" It was, at the time, the most critically lauded performance of her career. Strangely enough, though, the offers to star in more big-screen musicals didn't pour in.

"I think because once you've done one, people are like, 'OK, we want to find somebody else to do the next one, ' " Kidman told MTV News.

Nicole KidmanRecently, Nicole Kidman has attracted a lot of criticism for her performances and several box office failures. Even her detractors can't deny however that she's willing to take risks, and that she has an eye for intriguing projects.

Kidman's latest is no exception. Variety reports that she will team up with the BBC to adapt Chris Cleave's novel, "Little Bee." Kidman will star and produce the film under her Blossom Films shingle, and Shawn Slovo ("A World Apart") will pen the screenplay. Read More...
