Ryan GoslingRyan Gosling could be adding a high-profile role to his already-diverse resume: The Lone Ranger.

The Wrap reports that the Oscar-nominated actor has begun early talks with Disney to sign on for Gore Verbinski's big screen version of "The Lone Ranger." While it's certainly a different choice for the indie favorite, here's a big incentive: Johnny Depp would play Tonto to Gosling's Ranger.

But he may not be able to ride off with the part just yet, as his increasingly busy schedule (including "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and "Logan's Run") may not permit him to take part in the blockbuster-to-be, which is slated to hit theaters by 2014.

Nestor Carbonell is most recognizable as Richard Alpert on "Lost" and as the mayor of Gotham City in "The Dark Knight," but if some fans get their way, he might add another role to his increasingly geeky resume — none other than the villainous Khan in a possible "Star Trek" sequel.

Previously, director J.J. Abrams said that he's open to the idea of recasting the classic "Star Trek" villain in an upcoming sequel, and Carbonell has had his name thrown around for the part by many of his own supporters and "Star Trek" fans alike.
